Chapter 188
Gina’s POV
Branches whipped past my face as I sprinted through the forest, deliberately crashing through undergrowth and leaving an obvious traile
My arms stung from dozens of small t
where thorns and broken branches had sliced my skin, but the pain was worth it.
The plan was working!
Behind me, hungry growls echoed through
ees. The rogues were following
just
as I’d intended.
Keep moving. Just a little further, Gina!
The forest floor was treacherous, covered in fallen leaves that concealed roots and holes. My lungs burned with each breath, but I couldn’t slow down. Not when I was so close.
Suddenly, my foot caught on an exposed root and I went flying forward, slamming hard into the rough bark of an ancient oak.
“Damn it,” I muttered, wincing as I touched my shoulder. “That’s definitely going to bruise.”
I glanced behind me. The sounds of pursuit were growing louder. No time to nurse my wounds. I pushed myself up and started running again, ignoring the throbbing pain in my shoulder.
The trees began to thin, revealing my destination–a smoke–filled village at the forest’s edge.
I sprinted toward it, feeling a surge of adrenaline as the trap was about to be sprung.
Reaching the first building, I pressed my back against the cold stone wall, trying to catch my breath. My heart hammered in my chest as I checked my smart watch. Green dots indicated my team was in position.
‘Come out, come out, wherever you are,” a mocking female voice called from the edge of the village. “I know you’re here.”
I couldn’t help the cold smile that spread across my face. Gotcha.
I stepped out from my hiding place to face the rogue who’d been hunting me. Amelia Ashford stood there, her blonde hair cascading down her back like a golden waterfall, emerald eyes glinting with murderous intent.
Six transformed werewolves flanked her, their massive bodies tense and ready to attack.
“Oh, you finally caught up,” I said, keeping my tone casual despite the danger.
Amelia’s beautiful face contorted with rage: “You’re going to die today.”
I rolled my eyes dramatically. “Yeah, yeah. You said that last time too. You’ve completely lost yourself since you were exiled. Your soul is rotten now.”
A guttural growl escaped her throat, echoed by her companions. “You’ll pay with your life for what you’ve done.”
She knows I killed her mate, Logan, but that wasn’t entirely my fault. He tried to sexually assault me first…
I still remember when I thought Amelia was my best friend. She was with Logan, but something felt off. His eyes lingered on me when she wasn’t looking, a quiet intensity that made my skin prickle.
One day, climbing the stairs, I caught him staring up my skirt from below. I
let
it slide–awkward, but I was already haltway up.
Then at the amusement park, I tripped, and Logan bolted over, scooping me up to carry me to the nurse. His hand gripped my butt, too tight, too deliberate –
What the hell?” I snapped.
Chapter 180-
*Just worried about you. I care about you only because you are my girlfriend’s good friend. If it were someone else, I wmildo i give a damn, he had all fal concern. “Let’s get you checked out.”
The worst came one night when he showed up at my place, eyes red, claiming Amelia was done with him. She won’t talk to me, he sobbed. Can we drin Please, Gina?”
His face was wrecked, so I nodded. ‘Living room. Let’s go.” We drank, him crying, pushing shots on me until the room sport.
The air turned thick, electric. He leaned in, so close I could see the stubble on his jaw.
“Gina,” he whispered. “I’m a good guy, but
at love. Help me out?”
My head swam, eyes heavy. “Just… be good to her,” I mumbled.
Then his arms were around me. I was too dizzy to pull away.
But his hands roamed, grazing my breast, my nipple hardening under his touch. And I felt him, hard against me.
Reality crashed in. I shoved him, screaming, “Do
you know who I am? I’m her friend! Stop!”
He lunged, voice raw. “I love you, Gina. Not her.”
He tore at my clothes, pinning me to the couch. I thrashed, panic surging, until my hand found a fruit knife on the table. I stabbed him, hard.
The door flew open–Amelia stood there, frozen.
“You know this isn’t really my fault,” I taunted. “Your mate came after me first!”

“DIE!” she screamed, her body contorting as sho
shifted back into wolf form, her green eyes glowing dangerously.
Shit… time to go.
I was sprinting as fast as I could, but Amelia’s screams and the howls of the other werewolves still reached my ears.
I kept running straight ahead before hanging a left, and after what felt like forever, I was dashing past an abandoned storefront when a hand suddenly shot out from the doorway and yanked me inside.
I almost screamed my head off until I looked up to see Caelum’s white hair and those mischievous red eyes of his, and only then did I let out a huge breath of relief.
‘You scared the hell out of me,” I said, trying to slow my racing heart.
He grinned, clearly pleased with himself. “That was entertaining… I’m definitely telling Nathan about this when we’re done.”
I rolled my eyes. “Shut up. Be serious. There’s a pack of rogues out there who want me dead. I peered through the broken window, watching for movement outside.
Caelum shrugged nonchalantly. “Let them come… we’re ready for them. Don’t be afraid. Those are our people behind us.”
Heavy footsteps approached from the right. I pulled my dagger from its sheath and grabbed my phone, ready to send an emergency signal if needed.
The pack of wolves passed by our hiding place. From somewhere in the distance, a voice shouted, “ATTACK!*
We had hundreds of fighters–even as more rogues emerged from the forest to support their comrades, they were hopessly outnumbered.
‘Gina!‘ Henry’s voice called from behind me.
I spun around, relief washing over me at the sight of him unharmed. I threw my arms around him in a quick hug. “Thank God you’re okay… How was it? Good fight?
Chapter 188
Henry grinned, his eyes bright with the thrill of battle. Of course. I was unstoppable.
Half an hour later, one of Caelum’s subordinates whispered something in his ear, and Caelum nodded.
“They’re all dead, Caelum said flatly. ‘One got away, but the general said to let him go. He can tell the other rogue leaders what happened here today
“Good,” I nodded and reached into my jacket and pulled out a sealed letter, handing it to Henry. He tucked it safely inside his own jacket, gave Caelum and me a quick nod, then hurried away.
Cacium squeezed my shoulder reassuringly. “We should head back… he’ll be fine.”
I know he will,” I said. “I’m just wondering when Tyler and Victoria will get the news.”
