Chapter 357
KESTER.
“What?” I hissed into the phone when I finally answered Mum’s call. She and Dad had been calling throughout last night.
The news had reached the pack, and now, everyone suddenly began to show interest and care, including those miserable elders who had refused to believe that there was a greater ploy at play.
i could vomit.
I didn’t need them. In fact, I hate them with every fiber of my being.
“Talk to me, Kester,” Jorja sniffed.
“What the fuck do you all care about now?” I barked, slamming my palm against the steering wheel as I swerved a tight corner. “You and that man sent her into the lion’s trap, and now you suddenly care?”
My jaw clenched hard as I flew past the road where Norlan’s car had flipped days ago. Just driving past that stretch made my skin crawl. The memory, the blood, the wreckage, the fear… It all screamed at me. I pressed the gas harder.
“We want to help, Kes. Please,” Jorja sobbed harder, but before she could say another word, I dropped the call. I couldn’t tolerate sympathy at this point.
Tires screeched as I pulled into the hospital lot and made my way into the hospital premises and straight to Norlan’s ward.
“I’ve been calling you all night, Kes,” Norlan sat up immediately he saw me. “how did it go? Was she innocent after all?”
I almost let out a bitter laugh that refused to make it past my throat. Funny how he always wanted to believe June was a saint.
You really still wanted to believe that she is a saint?” I growled, pacing the room like I couldn’t contain the fire boiling inside me. “She knew, Norlan. She knew everything. The abduction. The timing. The whole fucking plan. She wasn’t just involved, she was part of the damn engine running it.”
His face fell. I saw the denial in his eyes and the way he tried to reach for something, anything at all, that made this less real.
“And it doesn’t stop there,” I hissed, walking toward the window, my knuckles white around the metal IV stand beside me. “Kex. Wes. Those two bastards played their parts, too.”
“And now they’re trying to act like saints, trying to wash the blood off their hands and pretend they never touched the knife. I chuckled, “In donation Wes made at the fundraiser last night? Trying to buy the heart of the entire world. Pathetic.”
Norlan paused, then cleared his throat like he was about to say something blasphemous.
“Speaking of saints…”
I turned to him slowly, narrowing my eyes.
“I think I know someone who could help track Nagel down. Since I’m stuck in this hospital and can’t move like I want to…”
The wheels in my head began to turn again, “Spit it out, Norlan!” I growled, even though it wasn’t necessary, as I walked toward his bedside.
He met my gaze. “Alpha Saint. Of the Night Shade Pack.”

I almost laughed… that bitter, joyless kind of laugh that hides the urge to break something. I closed my eyes to calm the storm brewing in me before opening them again.
“You must be fucking joking.” I shook my head and ran a hand down my face. That psycho? There is no way in hell I’m involving him in this.
Alpha Saint…

Chapter 357
Just hearing his name made my skin crawl.
That man was chaos in human flesh – an unhinged lunatic with a calmness so fucking disturbing, it could make death flinch.
A man who had the entire hair on his head all grey at just twenty–eight? Like life had beat the youth out of him long before it touched anyone else. He was beyond weird.
And those eyes… Dead, grey holes with no warmth and no soul. Just stillness and judgment. The kind that made you question if your heart was still beating.
