Maxine frowned.
Seeing her hesitate, Sebastian quickly added, “Just a moment, I won’t keep you long.”
“Fine,” Maxine reluctantly got out of the taxi, murmuring an apology to the driver before sliding into Sebastian’s car.
As Maxine got into the car, she was surprised to find Charles in the driver’s seat. He flashed her a bright grin. “Miss Hudson,” he said, catching himself just
in time.
Presumably, Sebastian had briefed Charles in advance, so he caught himself before saying “Mrs. Mason.” Seeing this, Maxine’s expression softened slightly, and she gave him a brief nod.
“Where to?” Sebastian asked, turning to look at her.
Maxine gave the name of their hotel. As the car started moving, Sebastian broke the silence, “Everyone thinks the Jenson family are self–made, but i happened to look into it, the source of their initial fortune was highly questionable.”

Sebastian pulled out the file folder from beside him and handed it to her. “Everything’s in here. Take a look,” he said.
