Chapter 275
Rachel’s POV
The air around the altar seemed to shimmer with fading energy. I held my breath as Nathan’s eyelids fluttered, then slowly opened.
Gone was the blood–red tinge that had consumed his gaze for weeks. Instead, those familiar storm–gray eyes–clear and lucid–stared back at me.
It worked!
Thank the Moon Goddess, it actually worked!
After everything we’d been through, after all the fear and pain, Nathan was himself again. The real Nathan–not the savage, soulless wanderer who’d threatened to consume him entirely.
He tried to push himself up but collapsed back against the stone altar, his muscles trembling with exertion.
Confusion clouded his features as he surveyed his surroundings, his gaze eventually settling on me.
The moment reminded me of when I’d first met him–that initial assessment, calculating and intense. Except now, vulnerability softened his expression.
I wanted to throw my arms around him, to feel that he was truly back, but uncertainty held me in place.
How was I supposed to act?
What was I supposed to say? I had no idea where we stood or what he was thinking/
I straightened my shoulders and summoned my most regal tone. “Welcome back, Alpha Nathan.”
His lips parted as if to respond, but then he merely nodded, his gaze sliding away from mine. The awkwardness between us was palpable.
“What the hell was that?” Victoria said.
Selena stepped forward, her face serene despite the intensity of what we’d just experienced. “That was a soul returning to its rightful vessel,” she explained. “When you touched Alpha Nathan during the moment his soul re–entered his body, a portion of his essence merged with yours.”
I frowned. “What does that mean?”
“It means your fates are now even more tightly interwoven,” Selena said. Seeing my concerned expression, she quickly added, “Don’t worry. Your destinies were already bound through your child. This simply… strengthens the connection.”
Nathan remained silent, his jaw tense.
Tyler moved to help him sit up, but Nathan couldn’t even lift his arm in response.
‘Don’t,” Selena warned, blocking Tyler’s path. “The ritual/isn’t complete yet. He must remain here another day. The altar’s magic will help him regain full control of his body, mind, and soul.”
As if in response, the stone beneath Nathan began to emit a soft silver glow that enveloped him like a cocoon.
‘Once the altar’s light fades, he’ll be restored to himself, Selena added.
Gina, holding Mateo in her arms, gave Tyler a reassuring smile. “He’ll be okay.” She turned to Selena, her voice warming. “Thank you for helping him.”
Selena bowed her head slightly. “Thank you, Alpha Nathan, for returning our queen to us. And for saving both her and the young prince before. We’ll help you until you’re fully recovered..
“Thank you for your hospitality, Nathan replied, his voice rough like sandpaper. Then he closed his eyes.

Chapter 275
I slowly lowered myself to sit beside him, watching his face carefully. Was he too weak to continue talking, or was he winding me? The thought sent non than I expected.
What did I even want anymore? To return to my pack, to be with my son, to stop being entangled with Nathan… wasn’t that what Ed wished for at der Then why didn’t I feel the happiness I’d anticipated?
I studied his profile, wondering if he’d truly meant those words he’d spoken so many times.
Had he ever really loved me, or was I just a convenient body to satisfy his needs? Or worse, was it all about getting my son?
His continued silence hurt. He hadn’t even apologized for what he’d done.
“Are you alright, Your Majesty?” Selena’s voice touched my mind.
“I’m just tired. Don’t worry.”
“I’d like to check your hair…”
“Not a single grey strand, I promise!*
Selena approached and examined my hair carefully, then sighed with relief.
Gina moved closer, Mateo squirming in her arms and reaching toward me. I smiled at my son’s antics, my heart swelling with love.
Nathan’s eyes opened again, fixing on Mateo with surprising tenderness.
