Chapter 26
“I… want…” Gerhart’s eyes were cloudy, and his hands were kneading her waist with a steady, unhurried force.
Latrina shivered, her little hands clenched tight.
Hadn’t even gotten out of this kiss yet, he actually made a second request.
She knew about his “want,” because she felt a strong force in her lower belly.
She didn’t know if she should say yes to his invitation. It didn’t seem right in broad daylight. Besides, her lips
were already numb and her whole body felt weak. If they did that now, could she still catch her flight tonight?
“Can I…?” His voice was urgent, and the low, hoarse sound was really rough.
Just as Latrina was about to say no, his phone rang.
Gerhart sighed, and pressed his forehead against hers even harder.
His dull eyes were full of killing intent.
Latrina was too scared to look at him.
His trembling kiss brushed lightly over her red lips:“Sorry, I scared you…‘
The phone stopped ringing, and Latrina’s heart jumped into her throat.

He slowly let go, the phone started ringing again, and he turned slightly and walked out.
Latrina breathed a sigh of relief and hurried to tidy up her messy appearance.
“Speak.” Gerhart didn’t sound happy when he answered the phone, like he was mad about being interrupted.
Latrina took the chance and hurried away.
All afternoon, Gerhart felt like Latrina was kind of avoiding him, whether on purpose or not.
But he spent the whole afternoon dealing with things, either in meetings or discussing the plan with Kelvin.
He didn’t come out of the study until it was time for dinner.
Just as she was eating, Kelvin sent her a message.
“Madam, Mr. Crowley was in such a good mood today. Was that bunch of tulips from you?”
Even Kelvin, the gossip buster, actually shipped people.
“How could you tell?”
“What did you do today? Checked Instagram.”
She thought, “What else could I do today? This morning he kissed me like crazy, and I was avoiding him all
afternoon.”
Latrina looked at Gerhart, who was eating across from her, then checked her phone and quickly opened his Instagram.
“Pretty good.(Picture: Tulip)”

“…” Latrina picked up a piece of beef and sneaked a look at him.
But she didn’t see anything different in his expression, just the same coldness as always.
“An hour and a half video meeting, his eyes were never on the video, always to the left of his computer. Was that tulip on the left side of his computer?”
Latrina thought back, “Yeah, that’s true!”
“You could change your job, Detective Farley.”
“Madam, you were really something! Looks like this stinky rock Mr. Crowley was about to sprout.”
Latrina sneaked a smile, covered her phone, put it on the table, and kept eating.
Yeah, spring was here…
She used to hear a lot of gossip in the office: After he graduated from college, he joined the army; Later, he hurt his leg and came back; His girlfriend of three years also left him, and after that, he stayed single.
She even heard that he didn’t go near women, super self–disciplined and abstinent.
“You looked at me thirteen times while eating. Do you have something you want to ask?” Gerhart looked up and met her big, watery eyes.
“Cough, cough…”
His sudden noise made Latrina choke on the mildly spicy beef.
Such sharp eyes! He even noticed this!
Thirteen more times, how bored was he, counting over and over…
Gerhart hurried to the kitchen and poured her a glass of warm water.
She took the cup and drank the water in big gulps, and Gerhart naturally used a napkin to wipe the water off the corner of her mouth.
Gerhart didn’t rush to ask. He just ate and watched her carefully, like he was waiting for her answer.
Latrina looked at the napkin he was using to wipe her mouth, then said nervously, “Sorry, I just thought you looked really good, so I stared a bit longer.”
The maid and Shane, not far away, chuckled, but they were afraid the master would scold them, so they sneaked out of the yard to laugh.
Latrína pressed her lips together and held back a laugh.
He really was good–looking! Among all the young guys, he was definitely the best.
Delicate features, deep eyes, with a buzz cut, and that body shaped by the army–those were definitely the standards, and Latrina could feel it.
But Gerhart still looked cold, like a statue, just staring at her.
Then just quietly lowered his head and ate.
“…” Latrina awkwardly kept her head down and ate.

She thought, “At least say thanks….
“Didn’t say a word, made me feel so embarrassed.”

At exactly ten thirty, Shane put the luggage in the trunk, and Gerhart and Latrina got in the back seat.
Shane picked up Kelvin first, then went to the airport.
When they arrived at the airport and got out of the car, they ran into Laurence and Jacqueline.
“Mr. Crowley!” Laurence and Jacqueline greeted at the same time.
Gerhart nodded, and Jacqueline stepped up to take Gerhart’s luggage.
“Mr. Manning.” Latrina said hi.
A few people just walked into the airport together.
Kelvin and Gerhart were walking in front, talking about something, Jacqueline was following behind, and Latrina and Laurence were at the very back.
Why did you come in the same car as Mr. Crowley too?” Laurence asked carefully.
‘Carpool.” Latrina smiled.
‘Shane took on side gigs too?” He was a bit surprised.
Hehe-
Do you want to go to Lyon together? Mr. Crowley gave us a whole day off, so we could check out the fashion capital.” Laurence warmly invited.
Lyon was a place designers dreamed of. There were lots of fashion shows here.
Latrina looked at Gerhart in front of her and quickly refused, “No, Mr. Manning, I had other things to do.”
She and Gerhart just got their marriage certificate. If she was alone with another man, people would talk behind her back.
Kelvin took the tickets and handed them out to everyone. At last, he came to Latrina.
Thanks, Mrs. Crowley!” He came over with a sly, cheeky look.“Thanks to you, I actually got to sit in first class in my lifetime!”
“?” Latrina took the ticket and looked a bit confused.
“Mr. Crowley changed all our economy seats to first class just to sit with you.”
“…” Latrina couldn’t help but look at Gerhart.
He was wearing headphones, talking on the phone, looking all serious, like a statue.
Everything went smoothly, just like Kelvin said, her spot was with Gerhart,
And the others‘ positions were in the very front.

“Not feeling well?” Gerhart.
“No.” Latrina chuckled.
Ever since she said he was good–looking, he hadn’t spoken to her all night.
“Are you mad?” Latrina still couldn’t help but ask.
“No.”
“Then why didn’t you say anything?”
“Don’t know what to say.” Gerhart looked at her slightly swollen lips, then quickly looked away.
Latrina snickered and didn’t notice his gaze.
“Is there anywhere you wanted to go?” Gerhart asked.
“I’m good with anything.” Latrina.
So what he meant was they were going to go out alone together?
“Isn’t Mom in France? Should we go visit her?” Gerhart looked at her seriously.
Latrina was stunned:“How did you know my mom was here?”
“You were my wife, of course I knew.”

The word wife made her feel all tingly, like she was on fire. She looked like she was drunk, her face all flushed.
Latrina touched her burning cheeks, turned her face away in embarrassment, and looked out the window.
Turns out there was a reason he came early, he was really scheming.
“If it’s not convenient, that’s okay. Next time I’ll come earlier.” He could tell Latrina was a little nervous.
“It’s fine. Sierra like it when it’s lively–anytime works.”
Hearing Latrina’s answer, Gerhart leaned back in his chair, looking satisfied, and closed his eyes to rest.
Latrina was a mess inside.
