To everyone’s astonishment, within minutes, the little boy, previously lost in his turmoil, walked over to Bertha
on his own.
He clung to her neck, burying his face in her shoulder as quiet sobs shook his small frame.
Bertha carried him to a nearby park, settling on the grass where she spoke softly to him.
Within half an hour, Galen had fallen asleep in her arms.
The Wallaces approached, their eyes wide with disbelief.
“We’ve always had to use sedatives during his episodes… I’ve never seen him calm down like this,” the mother whispered.
Bertha said, “Bipolar disorder, also known as manic–depressive illness, is fundamentally a psychological condition. Medication plays only a supporting role. The key is to communicate with him sincerely and enter his inner world.
Episodes often occur when he feels profoundly insecure after experiencing stimulation. Yelling at him is absolutely counterproductive. Rather than calming down, the child will only become more agitated and listressed.”
The parents quickly asked, “Are you a psychologist?”
Bertha awkwardly shook her head.
No, I didn’t receive formal training. I learned from family experience.”
After speaking, she handed the child to his parents and left.
Not far away, Kason saw all of this.
He’d slammed on his brakes the moment he saw Galen’s meltdown, but Bertha had beaten him to the scene.
Casper’s episodes were identical to Galen’s.
If this woman could calm Galen without medication, she could surely calm Casper, too.
She was beautiful, with a smile that was particularly sweet and warm. Maybe Casper would accept her!
Kason thought excitedly.
Recognizing the Wallaces, Kason approached and exchanged a few quick pleasantries.
Seeing how effortlessly Bertha had handled Galen’s episode only solidified his conviction. She could be the key to helping Casper,
His heart raced as he turned to pursue her, but Bertha was already halfway down the block. He quickened his
pace.
Suddenly, a black sedan pulled up next to Bertha. Some people got out of the car and forcibly dragged Bertha inside before speeding off.

Even as a refined gentleman, Kason couldn’t suppress the torrent of curses exploding from his lips.
He stood frozen, watching helplessly as the black sedan sped away before frantically dialing Marcus.

“Marcus, listen! I just found the perfect woman to help Casper, but some thugs just kidnapped her right off the street! You need to track her down now. She might be our only hope for him!”
Marcus asked, “What kind of woman?”
“She’s very pretty, easy–going, and gentle, with long hair and dimples when she smiles.”
“Get to the point!”
A very beautiful woman!”
Marcus replied, “Give me the address. I’ll have someone check the surveillance!”
Winthrop Avenue!”
The call had barely ended when a knock rapped on his window.“Boss, we caught her!”
Marcus glanced through the window at Bertha, then did a double–take. His brows furrowed.
Kason just said that the woman was taken away in the street. Could it be her?
No way! She didn’t look gentle at all!
Bertha’s eyes widened in surprise to see him.
The mere sight of his face sent her blood boiling.
Already furious about being unable to divorce smoothly, she now seethed, “You again? What the hell do you want? Let me go! I haven’t reported you for detaining me yesterday, but I swear I’ll call the police right now! Let go of me!”
Her face flushed with rage as she snarled.
Marcus wondered why she was so bold. Other women either cowered or blushed before him, but she only snapped.
She was really mean!
He ordered Axell to track down the ‘gentle woman‘ Kason described, then had Bertha forced into his car.
The moment Bertha was freed, she lunged for the car door, yanking at the handle with frantic force.
Finding the door unyielding, she yanked at the handle in frustration
Just as it threatened to snap under her force, Marcus’s voice cut through the air, “You’re not going anywhere without my permission”
Bertha glared over, gritting her teeth.
His resemblance to Alfred and Jacob was undeniable. How could she not link him to that brute from six years ago?
They said adults‘ breakdown happened in the blink of an eye.
