Marcus stared at Bertha for a while. She looked honest, so he let go. Bertha secretly breathed a sigh of relief and promptly initiated treatment.
Soon, Casper’s heart rhythm normalized.
Kason let out a sigh, saying, “His heartbeat finally went back to normal.”
Bertha put away her treatment tools.

Marcus realized that he had snapped at Bertha again. He opened his mouth but said nothing.
He probably didn’t know what to say, so he looked down at Casper.
Kason tried to smooth things over.
She didn’t pass away. She just disappeared after giving birth to Casper. No one knows if she is dead.”
‘She’s alive!” Marcus said without even looking up.
Kason had to agree, “Yes, she is alive.”
With Marcus here, he couldn’t tell Bertha the details, so he took her to the corridor.
“Here is the thing. After Casper’s mom gave birth to him, she disappeared. Over the years, Casper and his dad have been looking for her, really missing her. You can tell both of them can’t forget her.”
Bertha looked into the ward. Marcus was sitting by the hospital bed, holding Casper’s hand tightly, with deep worries in his eyes.
She never expected him to be a good husband and dad.
Bertha withdrew her gaze and asked Kason.

“So, Casper is ill because he misses his mom too much.”

“Then, the best solution is to find his mom.”
“If we could, Casper’s condition wouldn’t have become so bad. It’s been years, yet still no news about her.”
Bertha looked into the ward again.
For no reason, when she saw the little guy on the bed, she felt sad and heartbroken.
Taking a pause, Bertha said to Kason.
“If you guys can’t find his mom, then you should try to shift his focus to something or someone else.”
Kason sighed.

Bertha was worried. “Doesn’t he go to school?”

Kason shook his head.“There wasn’t a chance.”
“What about hypnosis?”
“We tried but failed.”
Bertha lowered her head in silence, quietly pondering.
Kason said, “Casper is different from other children. He is too smart. You can’t treat him like an ordinary kid. He is clever, sensitive, and very alert.”
Bertha glanced into the ward again and thought for a moment before speaking.
“I know why you called me here, but I’m not a doctor. I only read a few books on child psychology, so don’t
count on me,
“Though I was able to comfort Galen, it might be just a coincidence. I can only give it a try, talk to Casper when he wakes up, and see if I can get into his inner world and find a solution.”
Kason quickly answered.
“Okay! We really appreciate your help. Don’t worry. Marc will thank you properly. You can put forward your conditions. He can handle anything in Los Angeles.”
Bertha wondered if Marcus could help with her divorce.
