Chapter 7 Into the Forest
There was a sharp smack as my hand struck Elsa’s face. Blood trickled from the corner of her mouth as she stumbled and fell onto the sand.
I said coldly, “Elsa, don’t you dare talk to me about ‘love.‘ It makes me sick.”
With that, I spat on her and turned to walk away.
Elsa collapsed on the beach and burst into tears.
A cold smile tugged at the corner of my mouth.
Screaming and crying only drain more energy.
Maybe she wouldn’t even last thirty hours. Maybe she’d pass out from dehydration
even sooner.
Lily and I walked away together.
She asked, “Mr. Leon, where should we go now?”
My expression grew serious. “We have to find fresh water. There are coconut trees on the beach, but coconuts take 10 to 12 months to ripen. That means every coconut we eat is one less. We must find fresh water.”
Lily nodded, fear flashing in her eyes.
I went on, “Fresh water isn’t just for drinking. It’s also necessary to rinse the skin. We’re constantly exposed to seawater. If we don’t wash it off, we’ll end up with serious skin diseases over time.”
We arrived at the edge of the forest and looked toward the thick jungle ahead.
Shadow Island was vast and located in a hot, rainy climate,
In theory, there had to be a fresh water source somewhere on the island.
But the forest was also full of unknown dangers.
Lily asked nervously, “Do you think there are snakes in there?”

I nodded. “There probably are.”
She looked even more frightened.
I tried to comfort her. “Don’t worry. Snakes are actually timid. As long as we beat the grass with sticks while walking, they’ll be scared off.”
I handed her a branch and stepped into the forest first.
Lily, looking tense, followed closely behind me.
Once we were inside, I realized the environment on Shadow Island was better than I’d expected.
The trees weren’t packed too tightly together. There was plenty of open space.
Between the trees, the ground was covered in soft grass.
As a scholar, Lily knelt to examine it and concluded, “It looks like the biodiversity on Shadow Island is very low. All this grass is the same species. Even the trees look like the same type. You’re right–this place is probably at least two to three thousand kilometers from any mainland. Hardly anyone’s ever set foot here.”
That helped us relax a little as we continued forward.
A few hundred meters in, we came upon a cave partially hidden by trees.
I went to the entrance and checked it out. The opening was small, but the interior was wide enough to fit over a dozen people.
Finding this cave lifted my spirits.
It meant shelter–protection from the cold and the rain.
Without it, a single storm could kill both me and Lily.
We stepped inside and looked around carefully.
The cave was clean–just some stones scattered around. No snakes, no insects.
Lily’s earlier theory seemed right: the island was so remote, the ecosystem might not even have a proper food chain.

Then someone else entered the cave.
It was Hailey–the woman with long black hair, a beauty.
She looked… strange.
She was wearing a man’s dress shirt and nothing else.
Her large breasts strained against the fabric, nearly bursting the buttons.
She stared at me pitifully. I asked, “Do you need something?”
Tears welled up in her eyes. “Mr. Leon, do you have any food left? Could you spare a little for me?”
I felt no sympathy for a stranger like her. I shook my head. “Sorry, I don’t have any food right now. And even if I did, it wouldn’t be enough to share. I don’t even have enough for myself. I can’t just give it away.”
Hailey quickly said, “Sir, I’ll trade for it. I’ll sleep with you… I’m very good in bed.”
As she spoke, she began unbuttoning her shirt.
She wasn’t wearing a bra. No underwear either.
She must’ve escaped the cruise ship in a hurry and grabbed a man’s shirt to cover herself.
When the buttons came undone, her full breasts bounced free, swaying in the air.
Hailey had a voluptuous figure–big breasts, round hips.
Between her legs, she had a patch of dark, shiny pubic hair.
She was nearly thirty–a mature woman with undeniable allure.
Hailey stepped closer and said, “Please, Mr. Leon… just a little food? If you really don’t have any, even a bit of milk would be fine…”
By “milk,” she clearly meant semen.
She was dead serious. She reached out and tried to pull down my pants.
