Chapter 8 The First Drop of Water

Hailey’s sudden boldness made me uneasy, and I quickly took a few steps back

That’s when I noticed a shiny wedding ring on her left hand

The sight disgusted me. These women had completely forgotten their marriage vowsshamelessly offering up their bodies without hesitation

I said angrily, You’re married, aren’t you? And yet you’re willing to sleep with another man just like that? Aren’t you afraid of how your husband would feel?”

Hailey collapsed on the ground and began crying

My husband is deadI saw it happen with my own eyes when the cruise exploded. The blast threw him across the deck, and he hit his head on the cabin wall. His skull shattered. I’m all alone nowI just want to live long enough to see my child again”

Her breasts hung down as she sobbed, swaying with every breath

She looked up at me with pleading eyes. Mr. LeonI have nothing left. Only this body. I’m starving. I just want to survivelike Lily. Please let me serve you in exchange for food.”

She looked so pitiful, I did feel some sympathybut I still couldn’t agree to her request

Right now, I didn’t even fully understand this island. We hadn’t found any fresh

water

As for food, Lily and I were barely managing to keep from starving. We didn’t have anything to spare for Hailey

So I shook my head at her

Just then, Hailey suddenly stood up and lunged toward me

Because we were standing so close and she moved so suddenly, I stumbled back a couple of steps

That’s when I saw ita small snake had fallen onto her shoulder

If she hadn’t pushed me just now, the snake would’ve landed on me

I immediately felt guilty

When Lily and I inspected the cave earlier, we hadn’t checked above us at all

The small snake slithered down from Hailey’s shoulder and onto her chest

Her breasts were large and round. The snake coiled on top of one, flicking its thin

tongue

When it neared her nipple, Hailey screamed in terror and instinctively tried to slap it away

Startled, the snake bit her breast

I quickly grabbed its head and pulled it off her

It didn’t look like a venomous snake, but just in case, I grabbed her breast and squeezed the bite to force the blood out

The snake was thinner than a pen, and its fangs left only a tiny marksmaller than a sesame seed. The blood barely flowed

I had no choice. I leaned down and sucked the wound

Hailey let out a soft moan from the suction. Her nipple began to swell, growing hard

Its color deepened to a rich pink, like a rose

She looked at me with desperate eyes. Mr. Leon, please let me stay. I can cookI can keep watch at night so you can rest safelyI’ll sleep with you, too.”

I sighed heavily

Hailey,” I said, Lily and I didn’t actually sleep together. Everything we said— every actwas staged to provoke Elsa. I promise you, I’ll respect your dignity. I won’t trade supplies for your body. Our priority right now is finding fresh water. If we don’t, we’ll all be dead in three to five days.”

Hailey looked over at Lily

Lily nodded. Mr. Leon isn’t a murderer. He’s a gentleman. You don’t have to sell your body to survive, Miss Hailey. On this island, we’re all equals.”

Tears welled in Hailey’s eyes, but she nodded

With Lily’s agreement, I decided to let Hailey join us

I told them, Clean up the cave and see if you can find any wild berries nearby. I’m going to explore deeper into the island. We need to locate a water source.”

Hailey looked thrilled. She got dressed and set out with Lily to look for food

I turned toward the deeper part of the forest and resumed my search

After nearly a kilometer, I crouched and dug at the ground with my hands, feeling the soil

Judging by the dampness, there had to be water nearby

But I couldn’t hear it flowing, and I didn’t see any streams or rivers

I sat down in the grass to rest, trying to calm myself

Then I studied the terrain and headed toward a nearby hill

If there were any streams or rivers, they would’ve had to flow around that hill when blocked

I climbed the slope and saw a deep ravine cutting through the landscape

Trees were dense around it

As I approached, I saw the ravine was about six or seven meters deep, with smooth walls. A stream flowed steadily along the bottom

This had to be a crack formed by an earthquake

Fresh waterat last. I exhaled in relief

Getting it would be tricky, but the important part was that it existed

With water, we had a chance at survival

I walked along the edge of the ravine, looking for a safe way down

After a hundred meters or so, I suddenly heard someone calling out

Help! Please, help!”

It was Alice’s voice
