Chapter 2
BORA
:
“Are you okay?” Panic rushes into my face as I stare at his white shirt that swiftly turns brown.
“Oh my God, I’m really-” He steps back from my outstretched hand as though I was a plague.

“Don’t. Touch. Me.” He growls at me, ready to bite if my finger touched a strand of his hair mistakenly. I drop my hand back to the tray instinctively, staring at him apologetically.
“Who the hell are you?” He asks before I could open my mouth and apologize once more. That must hurt badly.
“Lucan.” Alpha Dryus’s voice resounded behind us and I purse my lips, my heart pounding in my chest. Oh, moon goddess, with everything, don’t tell me this guy is the alpha prince. Please, I will make sure to become a good wolf and also listen to all of my mother’s instructions. Thank you.
“I’m
pretty sure I heard her apologize.” I heard the alpha say after I ended my swift prayer.
“That’s easy to say when you are not the one who hot coffee was poured on.” He hisses out of gritted teeth.
“Son, you must have healed quickly. I know it doesn’t hurt you…..”
The rest of Luna Monica’s voice drowns out of my ear after hearing that one word ‘son. As usual, the moon goddess always doesn’t listen to my prayers. It’s not a one time thing, she’d done this over and over again that I wonder if she remembers that she created me at all.
“Bora. Bora!” I snap back to reality, just to see that the guy was no where to be found.
“Don’t worry about it that much. Lucan would just change his shirt and join us for dinner. Drop the cups. Anna is back, she’ll get dinner for us.” Luna Evelyn says enthusiastically that I start to wonder if she ever gets angry at all.
“Huh.” I drop the tray on the counter and cleaned my wet hands with a clean rag before following her out of the kitchen. My mom throws me a glare and I know I’ll get an earful after we get home. Bad way to get into bed.
“So, Bora…” Alpha Dryus speaks as soon as I have my seat on the dining table. Must we actually eat here? We can eat at home. I feel uncomfortable eating dinner in the house of the alpha and Luna of the pack. Of course, my mum doesn’t care but, that didn’t make it okay still. “What school do you plan to go?”
“Huh…I haven’t really checked for schools around-”
“Check for schools?” The guy’s ghostly voice comes again and we all look up to see him walk down the half moon shaped stairs in a new shirt..black, precisely.
“Why not just come to Moonthorne Academy? It’s the school for the pack members.” He gives me a thin smile that looks almost evil as he stops at my front. “We didn’t have a good start in the kitchen, I’m Lucan Drayce.” He stretches his hand towards me for an hand shake.

My eyes flicker between everyone on the table and Luna Monica who had a smile on her face, waiting for me to take the handshake and get along with him…Lucan.
“Huh… Bora… Deborah Ashwyn.” I take the handshake and his hand tightens on mine. I gulp slightly.
“Nice meeting you, Deborah.” He says. My name sounds weird in his mouth, like he is putting deliberate attention to each of the alphabets.
“Thank you.” I pull my hand forcefully away from his and turn back to Alpha Dryus, ignoring the palpitating beat in my heart and the piercing heat on the back of my heat. What was that? He felt so scary. I don’t know what it is, but I have this feeling in my guts that I should probably stay away from Lucan. And that was exactly what I was going to do.
“See what I said, Bora. He is going to come around.” Luna chips in as the food starts going round and I smile, trying to draw my lips into a wide line as possible.
“So, Evelyn. Tell me, what do you plan to do?” She looks back at my mother.
“Oh, I plan to open up a clinic here. You know, continue my medical line.”
“Yeah, I support that. We are fully behind you, okay? If you need anything, you can call us. And for Bora, she and Lucan would get along really well. Just let her go to Moonthorne Academy.”
“I would think about it.”
I drown out the remaining conversation between my mother and Luna Monica and stare directly at my food, finding it hard to stomach the one I’ve eaten. It was good food but I just couldn’t concentrate and eat well. I sigh, raising my head up only to come face to face with Lucan Drayce. He doesn’t look away, he just stared at me, blankly, with an expression that I could not read.
“What was that about?” My mother asks as soon as we step into the house.
“What?”
“How did you manage to empty four cups of piping hot coffee on the alpha prince’s body? Are you blind?” Her voice keeps getting higher.
“I didn’t see him. How was I supposed to know he was there?”
“Bora.” She calls my name out loud and I sigh slowly. I will never win against her, it was something I know.
“You are to apologize to him as soon as you get to school tomorrow.”
“School? What school?” I ask.
“Moonthorne Academy.”
“Mom, you can’t do that without informing me first!” I fire at her as a scoff leaves my lips. “This is my life. You can’t just make decisions for me.”

“Young lady, as long as you live in my house, you respect my decision! You are going to Moonthorne Academy and it’s final. I don’t want to hear another word about this.” She walks out of my front in that instant, going into a room I suppose she picks as hers and bangs the door hardly, the house shook.
I’m quiet as I walk into a room at the far end and close the door too. It was pretty. I hadn’t even had time to check before we went to the alpha’s house. White and pink lined the whole room. White bedsheets, pink duvet. White paint, pink decorations. Even the wardrobe and stuff were all white and pink. I collapse on the bed, spreading my arms out wide as I stare at the ceiling, where tiny little stars were placed round about.
She loves me. I know, but it was in her own way and it….it suffocates me.
