Lucan
The rush of students running towards the class, two classes away from mine, piqued my interest.
“What’s going on?” Mark, my beta, asks and I shrug lightly, oblivious to what was happening.
“OMG.” Thalion rushes in, “Amber is beating a new girl up. Dark brown hair and hazel eyes.” He chuckles, “Amber is a badass like always.”
“You guys are the reason she grows more wings.” I say to him.
“Really? You think so? Everyone knows Amber is infatuated with you? Ever since sixth grade.” He fires back at
- me.
“It’s a public thing. I guess only Lucan doesn’t see it.” Mark chips in.
“She’s not the kind of girl I like.” I confess, even though I’m pretty sure they already know that by now.
“I don’t know what to do with you.” Thalion shakes his head slowly as he took his seat behind me.
Amber is fierce and most of all, clingy. She’s the kind of person who’d do whatever to get what she wants which is admirable because I am the same too. Go to any length for what I want. Frankly, I don’t even know why I don’t like her. She’s beautiful and most of all, on the same level with me, being Mark’s cousin sister, a girl from the royal bloodline of betas. She has beta blood in her. I just didn’t like her.
But- a girl flashes into my mind. Long lashes when she peeked up from under them to stare at me at the dining table or when shock plastered all over her face after downing me in coffee. Bora.
*OMG. AMBER IS BEATING A NEW GIRL UP.* Dark brown hair. Hazel….
My head springs into action. What the- It was Bora.
I hit my fist on the table, startling everyone in my class. Getting up from the chair, I rush out of the classroom, Mark and Thalion on my tail.
“Amber!” My voice is quiet even to my own ears, but everyone pauses. “What…are you doing?”
Amber stares at me in shock for a moment and then places the chair she had carried on the ground quietly, before removing her leg from Bora’s body.
“Lucan, it’s not what you-”
My eyes fall to Bora. She was still there, on the floor, staring at me with those eyes of hers.
“Get up and follow me.” I say and walk to the door, knowing she knows I was talking to her.
“Why should I?” Her voice makes me stop in my tracks and I sigh, pocketing my hands as I turn back to her.

“You said?” I ask.
“Why…should I follow you?” She repeats it again, fearlessly. Interesting.

The class is so quiet you can hear a pin drop on the floor. And yet, everyone’s eyes are on us, but we stare right back at each other. I walk towards her, stopping just a feet from her small figure.
“Don’t kid yourself into thinking I saved you, Bora. Everyone here obeys me. So if I say follow me, you…just do that. Unless you want your ass back on the floor in ten seconds.” I mutter right to her hearing.
She opens her mouth to talk but maybe, something better warns her not to.
“Fine.” She gives up and I nod once.
“Lucan.” Amber moves closer to me and I look at her, “She has something for you.” A smirk plays on her lips and I know instantly, that she’s up to no good.
She walks toward Bora and bends down, picking the white bag Bora had been holding tightly ever since she left her house in the morning.
“What’s that?” I ask, genuinely curious about it.
An angry look flashes through Bora’s face but she makes no move. Amber opens the white bag and pulls out something…an apple.
She pulls off the paper on it. “Fresh juicy apples. I’m sorry…for yesterday, Lucan. From Bora.” She reads out.
The class makes some sort of jesting noise and I scoff lightly. What the hell are the apples for?
I run my eyes over her once again. “Follow me, Bora.”
I wait for her at the rooftop as she walks as slow as a snail, probably trying so hard to get on my nerves. She is already.
“What are you doing?” I raise a brow when she appears on the rooftop and she ignores me, going to sit on the bench up there.
“Don’t take it to mind. My mom asked me to give you the apples because of the coffee yesterday. It wasn’t my idea.”
“Technically, you weren’t going to apologize.” It wasn’t a question but she looks at me quizzically anyway.
“I already did yesterday. You didn’t listen to me.”
“It’s up to me whether to accept the apology or not.” I shrug and she sighs calmly.
“First day in school and you are already making trouble. Typical of you.”
“Not typical of me. Don’t pretend like you know me. And don’t try ordering me around. I don’t know who you are and what you think you are but I don’t appreciate it when someone meddles with my life, okay?” She gets up, “And next time, don’t do me a favor by coming into my class, okay? It’s unsolicited.” She adds, face

I didn’t make a move and I guess that kept her on her toes. Eyes locked, boring and noting every single thing on her body. The way the uniform fits her than most other girls in the school, her long hair with short carefully trimmed bangs at the front.
“You…understand me, right?” She asks.
I scoff. “I’ll do what I like.” I walk towards the stairs, stopping beside her, “And…you will regret this.” I pat her on her shoulders lightly and walk away, disappearing down the stairs.
“You know her?” Thalion comes out from nowhere.
“Something like that.” I shrug.
“Blacklist or not?” Rhett, the last of us, appears and everyone turns their eyes to look at me.
I think for a while, remembering her words. She doesn’t want someone messing with her life and that is exactly what I want, infiltrating into her privacy. I already had big plans for her when I suggested she came to our school, she just didn’t know it.
“Blacklist.”
