“Let, me, go.” I fight to pull myself out of his grip and finally succeed, stumbling backwards from the force.
He gives me a wicked grin and I frown hardly. Goddess help me so I don’t knee him in the stomach. I will love to see him double over in pain, on the ground.
“So…” I rub my hands against each other. “Are you taking me out of the blacklist?”
“You asked me not to interfere in your life, did you forget?”
“But you interfered.” I am frustrated now. He was the one who put me on the blacklist.
He cocks his head, staring at me with amusement in his eyes, “That was my decision, you didn’t have to ask me.” He replies and sighes as he checks his watch.
“Lunch break ends in five minutes. If you are hungry, you have to go back now.” He says.
“Do you think I care about lunch right now?” At that moment, my stomach decides to rumble. My cheeks flush in embarrassment as my hand go protectively to my stomach.
Lucan just stares at me and that made the embarrassment go deeper. “Luna Monica invites you for dinner at 7pm. Don’t be late.”
“Why do you think I’ll come for dinner in your home?”
“My mom would just think you are shy. But I would take it as blatant disobedience. You don’t know what would follow.”
I have no option than to scoff lightly. He was ordering me, wasn’t he?
“What would happen if I don’t come?” I ask, the challenging part of me coming forward. Normally, I was not like this. Mostly timid in many situations but with Lucan, I dare to say he icks me every single time, especially with the smug look on his carefully crafted face and the smirk on thin lips that laid on a razor sharp jaw. I hate the fact that I agree that he is handsome.
“You’ll see…. Deborah.” He says and walks off, like I am not the one who invited him for a conversation. I am not done talking yet but I won’t follow him. It’ll give him the impression of a desperate girl which I am not. May be my pride talking, but I don’t care.
“Finally!” Someone says breathlessly and I turn away from watching Lucan leave only to find someone at my
front.
Stacy? Sophia? Sapphire. Yes, Sapphire. That is her name.
“I got you some snacks when I waited and didn’t see you for a long time.” She says and I blink.
“Here. The cafeteria is closing soon.” She says, stretching the burger and drink towards me. I don’t know what

to make of this. We are not close to buy stuffs for each other and I didn’t particularly like people getting things for me. I mean, I don’t even know her, except for yesterday’s meeting.
“Uhmm, I’ll just…”
“It’s twelve thirty. You can’t go anymore.” She says on cue and I swallow hard as she pushes the snack into my
hands.
“You don’t have to open up to me freely. Take it slowly.”
“I’m blacklisted. It’s almost like I’m an outcast. Why do you want to be nice to me?” I ask and she flattens her lips.
“I’m also like an outcast here.” She whispers and I raise a brow as she giggles. “I’m an orphan.”
My eyes flashes with sympathy and she shakes her head. “No, no. I’m not sad. I grew up well, so…” She shrugs. “I’m just grateful to Lucan for not putting me on the blacklist, if not, my life would have been messier.”
“So not everyone gets blacklisted?”
“Some people are smart enough to keep out of trouble with him. In my case, he found out I was an orphan the day I resumed school, since I was handpicked for scholarship. He didn’t want me to be bullied. I’m placed on special singled out. So anyone who messes with me gets to take it up with Lucan.”
“There’s something like that?” I ask curiously and she nods.
“Hmm. Almost all orphans gets it. Even Amber don’t dare mess with us.”
“Amber?”
“The girl who hit you yesterday.” She says and I ‘ooh‘ out.
“That’s why I say you should apologize to Lucan. So he would get you out of the blacklist.” She says.
“What makes you think I offended him?” I ask and she blinks.
“Then why are you on the blacklist?” She asks and I genuinely want to know too. Lucan said I get on his nerves but frankly, I already felt uneasy when he looked at me at the dining table in his parent’s house. Something dark, something possessive, something that wants me to break. With these thoughts, I make my mind up. I am not attending tonight’s dinner in his house, absolutely not.
I don’t want to think about the fact that I am purposely refusing the thought in my head that screams at me to go for the dinner. Instead, I occupy myself with my homework, even answering questions that were totally unrelated to the subject. If possible, I want to start reading for college in progress. Okay, I agree. That is just something I want to do to take my mind off a certain guy and a seductive threatening voice.
“Deborah, dinner.” My mother’s voice skips across the rooms and finds me. I sigh, answering the last of the questions before dropping my pen on the table and staring at the pink stars that lines the ceiling of my room.

“Bora.” My mom calls once again and I walk out of the room, sitting on a chair the moment I get to the dining room. My eyes flick over the clock, lingering on it for a moment.
Luna Monica invites you to dinner at 7pm.
It is ten minutes after 7pm.
“Attention, young lady. You should concentrate on your food. You can’t get thinner than you already are.”
I’m pretty sure my weight is alright, but mom always finds something to complain about. If she finds out that I ignored a dinner invitation from the Luna herself, ‘because‘ of her son, she’s going to go all gaga on my head. I hope she never does find out.
After dinner, I tuck myself into bed again. I find it hard to sleep, not without thinking about the words that follow.
You’ll see…. Deborah.
Okay, damn it. I am totally going to sleep and not think about what will happen. Lucan is just a student like me. How much power does he actually have? Just because he is an alpha doesn’t give him the right to parade all over me!
I face the ceiling and start to count the stars that lines i
“Thirty fo…” I yawn out, feeling my eyes close. Hmm, it is always better to sleep off.
