“Get into bed, Lucan. It’s late.” My mom says as she gets into my room once again without my permission.
“You should go to bed instead. I’m pretty sure your darling alpha is waiting for you.” I cock my head, but didn’t turn fully to look at her, before she scoffs and waltz out of my room, leaving me all to myself again.
I am currently sitting on a chair in the balcony, a place that oversees all of Moon throne pack. I call it the ‘perfect view. But tonight, I clearly wasn’t staring at my ‘perfect view‘ and this is because of one girl…. Deborah Ahswyn. She actually dared to miss the dinner I asked her not to.
My eyes narrow as I try to search her house among the many houses in the pack. A large building covers hers and sincerely, I think that building should be pulled down for being so high.
My phone pings on the small glass table besides me and I stare at the message, one from Amber.
‘Would you like to go on a shopping date with me tomorrow? My card!‘
Tomorrow?
‘No.‘ A simple reply.
I can not destroy my perfect pretty plan for a small pretty Bora over a shopping date with Amber. My lips curves up in a wicked smirk as I stare at Bora’s picture on my phone. She would never know the things I have in plan for her.
A grin lines my lips as I enter into the group chat and start typing,
DEBORAH ASHWYN: PREY.

Murmurs lines the hallways from every single corner like this is a witch’s academy and spells are being practiced. My bag slings on one of my shoulder as I walk into my class in my gym wear.
“Why are you late?” Thalion fires at me the moment I enter and I glance at him.
“Do we have to come to school early on sports day?” I ask,
“Sports day is just like any other school day.” Brett says and I groan.
“Fine.” I raise my hands, “I’m in school now. You both should just become full athletes.”
“Okay, sports is not the actual problem here. Lucan, why is Ashwyn’s name tagged as prey?” Mark sits on the table in front of me and the class goes quiet. Like everyone’s been waiting for who’ll actually bring the topic up among my friends.
“She crossed the line, Deborah Ashwyn.” A grin lines my lips as her names rolls out my lips. Such beautiful

name, Deborah Ashwyn. I’m getting addicted to calling her Deborah.

“Okay, what line? I’ve seen people you blacklisted who eventually left the school because of the bullying…at school. Being prey means they can even get bullied at home. Are we taking this thing out of the school wall now?” Thalion asks.
“Yes, we are. I want to know what Deborah thinks she has on her sleeve.”
“Lucan. Prey…” Mark trails off as his eyes move to the door and right there, Deborah stands. Anger shooting off her eyeballs, like if she walks towards me now, she’ll kill me. There are many things she can do with that anger and killing me will definitely be her worst choice.
I raise my hand and flick my index finger towards her and she looks around, probably contemplating if it was okay to come in. Everyone in the class are staring at her like an hawk, mostly wondering how she managed to get to Prey in just three days of resuming school.
But she decides and walks towards me, stopping at my desk. The next thing she does suprises me. I stare at the three set of food flask she places on the table, full with food, of course.
“I’m sorry I missed dinner last night.”
Mark’s face contorts as he tries to hide the laugh that threatens to escape from his lips, while Thalion bursts into a full–flegded laughter, his shoulders shaking. Brett just stares in between I and Deborah, wondering many things.
Anger flashes in my eyes as I stare at her. “Are you…kidding me?” My voice is low as I speak and I see a small smile at the corner of her lips.
“You shouldn’t put me on prey list just because I missed an invited dinner.” She says again and almost immediately, a loud shriek interrupts us. Amber half runs into the classroom, her hands banging on the table angrily.
“You invited Deborah for dinner?!”
“Amber, get out. I and Deborah have something to talk about.”
“I apologized already, so I don’t have anything to say anymore. Get me off the prey list.” She says and walks out of the class, the scent of her perfume lingering around. I can almost wrap my hand around it.
“You really invited Ashwyn for dinner?” Mark’s eyes bulges with shock.
“Oh, shut up. My mom did. What would I have to do with her?” I roll my eyes, but the anger remains. I’m pretty sure the whole school already knows that I, allegedly, invited Deborah for dinner, at my house.
Nice way to turn this up, Bora. Let’s see if you can handle the prey level.
“Amber.” I stare up at the blue–eyed girl in front of me and her eyes lights up in interest. “Do what you do
best.”
A short simple instruction that captures everything that can possibly be done from Amber’s side. Amber might be evil and one sassy b*tch, but the dark girls did it better, those who hit her yesterday at the cafeteria. I

won’t let a guy hit Bora, not on my watch. But for the girls, they are all practically the same in strength but have different tactics. We’ll see which will make Bora break.
“Are you seriously going to let Amber do things to Bora?” Brett asks as we walk to the field.
“Yes.” I say and roll a ball on my index finger, all the while keeping my eyes on Deborah. She is laughing with a nerdy girl as she throws hand ball. “Today is going to be a very interesting day.”
