Chapter 11
LUCAN
:
I suck in my lower lip to stop the smile that threatens to escape my lips.
Oh, Deborah.

In a bid to keep her peace, there was a 90% chance she was going to say yes. From what happened at her visit at my house, it seemed like she was the kind of person who ridiculously listened to every thing adults said, while silently questioning it in her mind. She didn’t have the guts to do shit about it and that was why I knew…..that she was the kind of person who would listen to her mother, who said no trouble at school. To keep her peace, her answer would be yes.
Mark clouds my view as he throws his hand around my shoulder, “What’s making you smile? You look like you have something crazy up your sleeves.”
I frown as I glance at his arm around my shoulder, “Get your hands off me, Mark.” I growl.
He shakes his head as he moves his arm, “You can’t even be nice to your beta.”
“My beta should know what I hate and what I don’t like.”
“Doesn’t that mean the same thing?” Mark raises his brows.
“Yeah, it does.” I replied flatly and turn to enter the door, when someone pushes himself right in my front, entering in before me.
“What?” Mark scoffs, “Is it a competition to get into class first? Kids these days are eager for learning that it is so boring?”
I glance at the idiot who pushed himself in and he stares right back at me.
Same height as me, slightly broader shoulders, dark hair with dyed white strands here and there an unusually red eyes.
I….hate him.
“I’m sorry, for bumping into you.”
I scoff, “You practically pushed me out of the way.”
“Yes.” He doesn’t deny it, “I was eager to get into class before someone else.”
I cock my head. Someone else? Doesn’t matter.
“That’s not enough to push me out of the way,” my voice took the down road.
Mark steps into our middle, “Okay, okay. We are all guys and we don’t get mad at stuff like this.”

The guy looks at me right in the eyes, “That’s why I apologized.”

I have the feeling he is trying to provoke me. He doesn’t have to try too much. His face is already enough to make me mad.
“Are you a rogue?”
He chuckles, “What? Do I look like one?”
“You certainly do.”
“But I don’t smell like one. Or you think an alpha has problems with his sense of smell?”
My lips curve into a smirk. “Is that what you think?”
“I asked first.” He mutters.
“What are you doing here?” A female voice interrupts our so–friendly conversation as she walks into class. She looks exactly like the guy except she has red hair, but she also took his ridiculously red eyes.
Her eyes shifts to me, “Oh, what a fine guy we have here.” she twirls her hair with her fingers as she stares at
- me.
Great. Amber–like.
Just more bold and lousy.
“New students?” Mark asks.
“Yes.” She replies without taking her eyes from my face, then she stretches forth her hand, “I’m Zara….Zara Heart.”
“I didn’t ask,” I reply interestingly and glanced at the guy, before walking off to my seat.
Bunch of psychos.
“This is not your class,” I hear the girl say loudly, “why are you here?”
“Isn’t this B?” The guy looks around.
“No, B is the next class.” Mark says to them.
B?
That’s Deborah’s class.
That…that guy is going to be in Deborah’s class?
Why?

“Bora’s not in school. Do you think the teacher sent her home because of the stuff that happened in the field?” Thalion asks as we sit in the cafeteria for lunch.
My brows went up, “When did you start keeping your eyes on Deborah?”
“She’s your girl. It’s only our responsibility to watch for ya,” he replies half heartedly.
“When did Bora become his girl?” Rhett asks.
Great question. Why does Thalion speaks ridiculously sometimes? My girl? Funny.
“Have you ever seen Lucan get so interested in a girl bfefore? The only guy who ever made it to the prey list was an idiot and deserves it. But we all don’t know what Bora did. And she made it to the prey list on one week. I don’t know how high she can get.” He said.
“What makes you think Deborah did nothing?” I ask him.
“She looks so prim and proper. The kind of girl who’s been trained never to make mistakes.” Thalion said.
Prim and proper?
Never makes mistake?
She painted a wonderful picture out there.
What happened to the girl who poured me coffee and glared at me when I said she should come to our school?
The one who calculates her emotions before she speaks and throws them out in subtle insults?
Or the girl who screamed at me for coming to pick her up to school?
Prim and proper, my foot.
“What’s outside is not all you see.” I say instead, not willing to show the side of her which only I know.
She doesn’t know that part of herself either. The one that slips out of her control.
My job is to help her see it.
“What exactly did she do to grab your attention?” Mark asks seriously and the three of them stares at me.
I shrug, “She poured me coffee in my own kitchen.”
“That’s it?” Mark asks, “Just coffee?”
“The coffee was hot, clown and it was four cups.”
“You are a wolf, an Alpha at that, you heal fast.” Rhett looks at me like I’d grown six heads.
“Coffee is coffee. What if I was human? I’d be strolling back and forth just to fix my skin,” I roll my eyes at

their stares.
“I don’t think, “Thalion eats suspiciously “that’s the only reason.”

“If it is, Lucan won’t place her name on prey list and still order the guys not to touch her.” Rhett murmurs.
Of course, it’s not the only reason.
But even 1, don’t know what that reason is.
What made me stare at her at dining and pushed me to stretch my hand towards her, saying my name.
What made me suggest to her mom that she comes to Moonthorne?
What made me want her to be mine?
I’ll figure it out soon, with her. But for now, the moon goddess better help me tha
t I don’t place the girl walking towards me on prey list.
“Hi, handsome.” She smiles as she slips into the fifth seat, “it’s me, again, Zara Heart.”
