Natalia’s eyes fluttered open, and the Emperor froze, unsure of what to do, he never expected her to wake up so soon, her green eyes trailed to reach his fingers that approached her face. A small scream escaped her as she shifted away from him, using her hands and legs to create space between them.
The emperor chuckled, this was the first time he had seen her scared, and he liked it, the way her pulse was visibly racing in her neck.
“Stay away from me,” She begged before he could even near her, as she continued backing away from him until she reached a wall.
“Didn’t you summon me because you had something important to tell me?” He drawled mockingly as he strode towards her, his movement slow and deliberate to taunt her. Cornering her like the prey she was. “I am here, tell me.”
Natalia trembled as she clutched the edge of her dress. She could still taste the blood in her mouth, and the pain in her ears was even more unbearable, but none of them compared to the terror she felt for the man before her.
Except that he wasn’t a man… her eyes remained glued to his glowing eyes that seemed to be otherworldly; he resembled a demon, and he seemed to be ready to devour her.
A shaky breath escaped her when he reached for her face, his cold long finger tracing her cheeks softly, and then they went behind her face and towards her ears. His eyes narrowed softly, and he touched the small coagulated liquid at the ends of her ears.
He withdrew his fingers to inspect it, and then he realized it was blood.
“I got carried away and injured you as well.” He muttered and then smiled softly. he raised his other hand and Natalia tried to shift.
“Stay still,” He ordered, compelling her body to remain in the same position, he covered both her ears with his palms, and she shuddered. His red eyes were locked on her green orbs, staring intently, and for some reason, Natalia found it impossible to break the eye contact, his palms heated against her face, and the pain she felt in her ears began to subside immediately.
The relief was so instant, she felt a small gasp escape her as the emperor leaned in, his face inches away from hers, but his finger crawling into her hair, and his fingertips massaging her scalp. Instead of pain, she felt all the tension in her shoulders dissipate.
“What are you doing to me?” she whispered, her breath fanning against his face, and his sultry eyes narrowed at her. And for some reason, her heart began pounding in her chest, and her breathing became ragged.
“Shh,” He muttered, and she bit down on her lips. “Do you still feel pain?”
She shook her head softly.
“Forgive me,” His voice was oddly soft, as his thumb brushed her plump red lips, and she shuddered, for some reason, her body seemed to be responding to his touch. In ways she had never felt before, her eyes met his again. His eyes had the same hue of that day, and she held her breath, for some reason she felt if

He suddenly pulled back, and Natalia felt her legs give out, and before she could fall, he caught her, sweeping her up in his arms.
“What did you do to me?” She asked curiously, because she had no explanation as to why she was so weak.
“I healed you.” He muttered, as he walked towards the chair in the council room, since it was just the two of them, he could do whatever he pleased. “The effect of the mind control would have last for a whole week, and some of your internal organs are affected by it, so I healed you.”
“Why would you do that?” She muttered without any ounce of strength in her voice.
“I was angry.” He confessed, “At the rest, and I completely forgot you were in the room as well. And since you are human, it could kill you, but you are strong, aren’t you?”
He laid her in the chair, and then bent slightly, he pulled her legs out from her dress. Natalia’s eyes widened but the words of her protests refused to form.
A man who she was not married to isn’t supposed to see her legs. That was the principle for ladies in the tribe.

Azmaveth’s large rough hands ran through the soft smooth skin of her legs, she was small compared to the women of his tribe. The size difference was just so big and he felt he could snap her legs if he used just the right amount of pressure. The thought amused him, and he picked her feet out of her shoes, and rubbed on it softly.
Natalia’s eyes widened in surprise, as she never expected a man like him to be so gentle with her; it was a contradiction to the man she had fought with on the day her tribe was taken into captivity.
“Why won’t you just let me die?” She asked curiously, and Azmaveth stopped. He glanced up immediately, watching the tears as they formed in her eyes. “No matter what you do, you are still the man who took my family and village into captivity. I can’t agree to the courtship.”
“I was never proposing a courtship.” He muttered as he continued what he was doing, the tenderness in his hands remained even though his voice seemed sharper. “I want to marry you, and make you my queen, and at the same time, I don’t want to hurry you, that is why I proposed the courtship.”
“Since I have refused the marriage, and I wouldn’t court you either, you should just kill me.” She insisted, but the emperor carefully set down her left foot and picked the right one. “I won’t ever agree.”
“No one born from a man and a woman has ever refused me….” He started in a still voice, one that commanded fear. He raised his head slightly to lock eyes with her, and a small crease his eyebrows when he noticed some loose strands of her hair hovering over her eyes. He reached for it, pulling it behind her ears.“… And you are not about to be the first, princess.”
