Goof
Not that I would tell Gena that. I am not that stupid. And I like sleeping in Silvy’s bed. And if I said anything hurtful to Gena or anyone she cared about Silvy would have me crashing on the couch or worse the clubhouse. Not going to happen. And I’m not a rude asshole either. Rivet places Gena’s hand in Tony’s and comes to sit beside me. “Who gives this woman to this man?” Viper asks. Xavier takes two steps forward and looks Viper in the eyes. “I give my mom to my dad,” he says as loud as he can. Viper smiles down at Xavier “That is good enough for me little man.” Xavier nods and steps back next to Tony. I see Silvy’s shoulders shake and wipe a tear from her eye. She is silently laughing.
“Ladies and gentlemen, we have gathered all of you to witness what Xavier said. We are uniting this couple to make a family not just a marriage. A husband and wife. A little brother and big sister.” Viper said as he smiled at Xavier and winked at Silvy. “I have only performed a few of these ceremonies and they were all for family. So when Silvy asked for my help I was unsure since I don’t know Gena and Tony that well. But Silvy is family to me so I agreed. Besides Tony raised Silvy so how bad could he be.” Viper said making several people laugh.
“Then after talking with Gena, I found out that not only was she on duty and in the room when my nephew Ford was born but was working in the nursery when my twins were born and helped check them out. So honestly she can’t be a bad person. I feel privileged to help them become a family so let’s get on with it.” Viper said turning to Gena. ” Gena Sorento do you take Tony Ramone to be your lawfully wedded husband? To have during the good times and the bad, sickness and health, bad cooking and good? Until you leave this earth?” Viper asked. Gena laughed ” I definitely do.” Tony Ramone, same questions about this pretty lady. Do you promise to have her back no matter what? Do you promise to put her needs before yours? Until your last ride?” Viper asked. “Until I’m riding with the angels,” Tony said.
While Viper is having them exchange rings I’m looking at Silvy thinking about my own wedding to her. Would Silvy want something simple like this or would she want a big to–do like what Ailee had? Or something in the middle maybe? I will give her whatever she wants I don’t care how we get married except I do want Viper to marry us. That is my only condition, the rest is up to Silvy. I need to ask Tony for his blessing but not today. Before Silvy gives birth. I’m brought out of my musings when I hear clapping and see Gena and Tony kiss. Xavier, a typical six–year–old, turns his head and does an exaggerated body shake like he is grossed out. The poor kid probably is.
When Gena and Tony pull back Viper says “I bet you thought we are done. Not just yet.” Tony steps beside Viper with some papers in his hand. “Remember when I said we were uniting a family? This is part of it.” Viper said. “Tony, do you accept Xavier to be your son? To raise him as you did your daughter. To treat him as if he is your blood. To punish when needed. To support him financially and emotionally. To be there for every event that is important to him. Most of all do you promise to love him?” Viper asked. ” I swear on my life,” Tony said. “Silvy, can you step forward?” Viper asks. My Silvy looks confused but does as he asked. I’m watching trying to figure out what is going on. I have seen Viper do something similar when Merigold got married. But what does Silvy have to do with this?

Silvy, do you take Xavier to be your little brother? Will you be three for every important event and holiday? Will you be by his side when he runs to you because his parents just don’t understand him? Will you be there for every milestone in his life? Will you give him embarrassing dating tips? Will you be his phone call in the middle of the night when he gets drunk for the first time and is too scared to call his parents? Above all do you promise to love him?” Viper asks making several of us laugh. “I would be honored to have Xavier as my little brother,” Silvy
said.
“Now, Xavier,” Viper said, Xavier stepped in front of Viper. Viper got down to eye level with him and asked “Xavier, do you accept Tony to be your father? Do you want him to be there for you when you need him and when you don’t? Do you want him to be there for every birthday and holiday? Do you want to ask him boy questions when you get older because mom is a girl and wouldn’t understand? Do you want him to love you like a son and you love him like a father?” “Yes, I want Tony to be my daddy,” Xavier said loudly. “And what about Silvy? Do you want her to be your big sister? I know her man, I think she is going to be an awesome big sister.” Viper asked. I see Gena laughing and wiping tears from her
eyes.
I look over and see Matt signing for Ratchet while they are both laughing. Since Xavier hasn’t answered yet Erin yells out “Silvy is so cool. You have to let her be your sister.” I have to bite down on my fist to keep from laughing. “Yes, I want Silvy to be my sister,” Xavier says. “Good, I had to be sure. The papers Tony is holding our adoption papers. He has already signed them so you are officially his son.” Viper said. Viper stands back up and looks out at the crowd. Gena comes over to Tony and puts an arm around his waste. “Ladies and gentlemen, it is my extreme honor to present for the first time the Ramone family.”
