Since it was Silvy’s last night shift and she would be off early I figured I would hang out at the clubhouse tonight. Shoot a few games of pool and try to beat Ace. Have a few beers with my brothers, and catch up with them until Silvy was getting off work. I knew after the baby was born I wasn’t going to come to hang out first the first few weeks. All the brothers stayed close to home unless they had to come to the club for business. And for the first week after the baby was born the brothers did club meetings through a secure video conference. My brothers are hands–on dads and I plan on being the same way. And visiting with my brothers while Silvy is at work doesn’t take away time I could spend with her. Not that she ever said a word about me going out. Hell, she encouraged it. That is just the type of woman she is. She doesn’t need me by her side all the time. And we are
out together she doesn’t hang off me like a lifeline.
I am leaning over the pool table, I have my shot lined up when my phone rings on the table. “Meathead,” Ace says pressing the button to answer. He puts it on speaker and before I can ask anything Meathead says “Boss, you need to get down here. There is a situation. Bradford is on his way as well.” I drop the pool stick not caring it landed on the floor and ran to my phone to pick it up. “What the hell is going on?” I asked already heading for the door to my bike. Meathead explained that Silvy was dealing with a couple of frequent flyers. Silvy did the smart thing and
notified Meathead who connected the off–duty officer about them as soon as they walked in. I
switched to Bluetooth when I put my helmet on and Meathead continued. He and the officer stayed
close but couldn’t go into any of the exam rooms or curtained areas. For the patient’s privacy. Everything was fine until it was time for discharge.
That is when all hell broke loose. The woman pulled a knife on Silvy. While Silvy was distracted by
the girl, the guy came behind Silvy, grabbed her, and is now holding a knife to her stomach demanding they get a doctor to give them real drugs. The good shit is what they wanted. Whatever that is. I was pissed. “Boss, I know I fucked up. It happened so fast. I didn’t even have time to get the door to the room open.” he said. ” Do you have eyes on her?” I asked I tried breaking the sound barrier to get to the hospital. ” Yea, but it isn’t safe to make a move,” Meathead told me. “Keep her in your sight. But don’t do anything until I get there.” I told him. “Don’t worry boss. I’m not letting her out of my sight again,” he said.

How is she doing?” I asked as I made the turn that lead to the hospital. I imagine she is terrified by what is going on. “Surprisingly she looks calm. At least on the outside. Silvy is tough.” Meathead says. That she is. When I pull up to the hospital I turn my bike off, yank off my helmet, and jump off. I see several police cars in the parking lot and surrounding the emergency entrance. I hear bikes not far behind me as I run. I guess some brothers followed me. I don’t have time to worry about them. I go to the main entrance hoping I can sneak in that way. All the other ones have too much

going on for me to get in without causing an issue. I go in and see the waiting room is empty except for a cop and a nurse. Megan. What is she doing out here?
