Chapter 12
EVE.
Saint just stood at the foot of the bed, arms folded, eyes locked on me with that unholy calm, like I was a puzzle he was in no rush to solve. I felt like death itself was sizing me up.
Then he finally spoke again.
“I told myself, if I ever saw you again… I wouldn’t say a word.” He paused and tilted his head. “…Just let you scream while I took back everything you stole. Inch by inch.”
He circled to the side of the bed, running a finger along the leather restraint like he was checking the tension on a violin string. Then his voice turned softer and even deadlier.
“But look at you. Right here. In my bed. Tied like a fucking gift.” He lowered his face to mine, and I could feel his cold breath.
“The Goddess made it too easy, Eve.”
I tried to look away.
“Look at me,” he said quietly.
My head snapped toward him as if I were controlled by an unseen force. My eyes stung.
He studied me with no hint of warmth or amusement. Not even rage. Just… nothing. It was worse
than hatred.
I shook my head frantically, but only my sobs could be heard. Tonight felt like the night I was going to die. This monster was going to kill me. He looked like a ruthless killer.
“Do you know how many women have begged to keep something of mine? And you? You stole it.” He leaned in again. “I should kill you. But I won’t. At least, not yet. Because I want you to suffer slowly. I thrive on pain and suffering, sister.” His voice was as cold as a scalpel.
I shook my head weakly, “No, please… I didn’t mean… I swear… let me explain.”
He cut me off, crouching so that his eyes leveled mine.
A smirk touched his lips, but it never reaches his eyes.

Chapter 12
“You made me and Kyrie look like fools. You dragged me back into the one thing I swore never to feel ever again. And you ran.” He closed his eyes and drew in a deep breath, as if trying to calm himself down, and it terrified me.
“So here’s what’s going to happen.” He stood up, “You want your mother to remain happy in this new marriage? You’ll play my game.”
“I’ll do anything you want me to do. But please, don’t hurt my Mum. She… she has been through a lot. Please… I promise you, Alpha, I’ll get back your watch. I will.” I sobbed harder.
The moment I mentioned bringing back his watch, he looked… intrigued? Perhaps I was cracking his
walls.
I knew where I sold it. I’ll go there and get it back. But… wait… I don’t even have the money to retrieve it with…
Oh, God.
Okay. First things first. I’ll have to go and check to be sure they still have it with them.
“Hm…” He hummed, leaning on the huge table beside him, as if contemplating my words.
“Yes. I swear to you, Alpha. I’ll get it back for you. I promise.”
“Okay,” he said way too simply that I began to question the commitment I just made, “But until then, you’ll do what I say. Live where I say. Work where I say. Breathe when I say. No questions asked. You’ll be mine, Eve. Because I own what steals from me.”
I nodded frantically. Too terrified to even speak, “I will. I will. No questions asked.”
Then he turned toward the door. Where is he going? Did he plan on leaving me like this?
But before I’d say a word, he paused. “One more thing,” he turned off the light. “The day you admit to Kyrie that you were the whore we fucked, you’re dead.”
