Chapter 18
On the night of the event, Royston arrived at the campsite carrying heavy luggage. He set up the tent, arranged the snacks, and lit the campfire all by himself, not letting Josephine help with anything.
Once everything was ready, he patted the soft cushion and invited Josephine to sit down first.
Then, he took out a blanket he had prepared in advance and draped it over her shoulders.
“This spot is perfect. I’ll be in charge of taking photos later, and you can
Il be in charge of taking photos later, and just enjoy the aurora.”
After Royston finished speaking, he suddenly felt a weight on his sleeve.
Josephine tugged at his sleeve and said, “The best scenery should be captured with your eyes. Sit down and watch it with me.”
Royston’s ears turned red again.
While waiting for the aurora, neither of them spoke.
Josephine munched on snacks while feeling the warmth of the campfire.
At that moment, a news notification popped up on her phone.
“Former business tycoon Nathaniel passed away this morning. His company declared bankruptcy before his death, marking the end of an era…”
Seeing the familiar name, Josephine was momentarily distracted.
Royston also received the same news alert.

He had a crush on Josephine, so he had looked into her past, knew about her experiences in America, and was aware of who Nathaniel was.
Upon learning of Nathaniel’s passing, he instinctively glanced at Josephine to see her reaction.
To his surprise, Josephine simply glanced at her phone in silence and then put it away.
“Josephine, you…”
“Look, the aurora!”
The sudden appearance of the aurora interrupted Royston before he could finish his sentence.
The students all raised their cameras to take pictures, and Josephine stood on tiptoe with her binoculars, trying to get a better view.
Wherever she looked, the deep blue night sky was torn open, and vast curtains of green light surged forth, draping the snowy ground in a dreamy veil.
Josephine was completely captivated by the beauty of nature.
But when she put down the binoculars, she realized that Royston wasn’t watching the aurora–he was watching her.
The young man’s lips were red and his teeth white, his black hair shining faintly in the night, with a few loose strands fluttering gently in the breeze.
For a moment, Josephine felt as if she could see herself reflected in his
eyes.
As Royston’s face grew redder and redder, almost outshining the aurora, Josephine suddenly remembered something and bent down to rummage through her backpack.

Soon, a white scarf appeared in her hand.
She had knitted the scarf for Kathryn, but last month Kathryn started dating someone, and the two of them wore matching scarves as a couple.
Looking at Royston’s neck, reddened by the cold wind, she suddenly felt the urge to give him the scarf.

Sephine said, stepping
“Why are you standing so far away? I don’t bite,” forward and looping the scarf around Royston’s neck.
They were so close that their breath fogged up the air between them, blurring their vision and bringing their hearts closer together.
Josephine realized that she had truly moved on.
“Royston, when the weather gets warmer, let’s go for a spring outing together.”
Royston’s eyes widened. “Really?”
Josephine nodded. “I love spring.”
Pain will be worn away by time, and love will be reborn from the ruins.
After the harsh winter, spring is sure to come.
