Chapter 166

Yolanda was indeed picking out some car studs for lan, this time going for a pair with a cold, sharp stylejust

his vibe

As she slowly sifted through the choices, a shadow crept over her. What are you looking at?”

Startled by his voice, she looked up

Joelle Monroe’s already back, and Ian’s actually home tonight? Did I not keep him satisfied last night?she wondered

Instinctively, she swiped up, changing the page to men’s necklaces

Charles reached out, sifted through the options, and paused at a couple’s necklace. This one’s pretty good.”

Yolanda, oblivious to the romantic meaning, just nodded. Yeah, it’s okay.”

Then she skipped past it, planning to buy it later for Ian without Charles knowing

Charles watched her scroll past it and couldn’t help but feel a little uneasy

He glanced at the serious look on her faceshe really didn’t look like she wanted to buy it at all

He looked down, then swiped the page back. You don’t like it?”

I do,Yolanda replied, turning to stare at him, her brow creasing. Babe, do you need something else?”

Charles felt like he was choking on a fire

But he couldn’t be bothered to argue over this kind of thing. He didn’t want to look petty or like he was throwing a fit

He sighed, leaned in and pressed a quick kiss to her cheek. Have you heard any rumors lately?”

With all the hype around Joelle’s comeback, there’s no way Yolanda hadn’t caught wind of it

Yolanda finally realized what he was getting at, exited the shopping page, and opened Twitter. You mean all the stuff they’re trashtalking about me? Whatever, I seriously don’t care, she replied, totally unfazed

Charles’s face turned even stormier. Without saying a word, he got up and marched upstairsprobably off to bury himself in work

Yolanda blinked, Seriously, what’s got his panties in a twist? She had absolutely no idea why he was acting like

that

She reopened the shopping app and bought the ear studs she liked, plus that couple’s necklace

Ian and I have never tried matching accessories before. It’ll probably make that pup so happy!she thought to herself

Just imagining it made her lips curl into a smile

The servants had just brought out the food, and Yolanda was about to sit down when she saw Charles hurriedly coming downstairs, his voice cool and steady. Come with me to the Sinclair family home. Something’s happened to Renee.”

Yolanda’s lashes fluttered. She obediently got up and hurried after him

When they got to the Sinclair family house, Yolanda could hear May sobbing, while a shrink tried to calm her down

Renee had tried to throw herself off the balcony again tonight. All this week, she’d been wailing and screaming upstairs, making it impossible for anyone to sleep

May looked like she was about to crack. The moment she saw Charles, her tears flooded out, and there were bloody scratch marks all over her cheeks

Charles turned to Jasper Clark. Escort her to the rehab center.”

May looked like she was about to protest, but the piercing screams from upstairs made her swallow her words, lips pressed tight as she fought back more tears

If this went on, everyone in the house would be on the verge of a breakdown

Soon, Renee was dragged downstairs by two bodyguards, flailing like she was completely out of her mind

Blake would never abandon me! I want Blake!she wailed, her voice ragged

Give Blake back to me! Bring him back! Bring him back!she cried, almost hysterical

Don’t kill me, please, I’m begging you, don’t kill me!Renee screamed, her eyes wild with terror

Those two lines were all she kept repeating lately, right before the bodyguards forcibly bundled her into the

car

Yolanda saw Renee’s shoe lying outside the car window. She rushed over, grabbed it, and handed it back to her through the open window

Renee looked totally lost, her eyes blank. The bodyguards were shutting the car door and someone was up front ready to drive

After making sure nobody was listening, Yolanda slowly said, Blake said he’d rather have never seen you in his whole life.”

Shock flashed through Renee’s dazed eyes. She went wild, trying to shove her way out the window at Yolanda

Kill you! I’ll kill you!she screamed, her voice nearly breaking with rage

To everyone else, it just looked like she was losing it again

Yolanda almost got caught up in the mess, until Charles yanked her arm back at the last second

Chapter 166

Why’re you getting that close? What if you end up hurt?he grumbled, a flash of worry in his eyes

I’m alright, babe, I was just returning Renee’s shoe, Yolanda said, still cool and collected

Renee was practically hanging halfway out the car window, her face twisted in rage as she glared at everyone outside. I’ll kill you! You all deserve to die! Bring Blake back to meevery last one of you should burnt

Yolanda shrank into Charles’s chest, clinging to him without thinking

Charles slipped an arm around her shoulders. Come on, let’s get in the car

They got into a different car than Renee, both vehicles heading straight for the rehab center

May was riding in the same car as Yolanda, and as soon as she saw her, her face soured. Honestly, you’ve totally cursed our family. If you hadn’t married Charles, Renee would’ve never ended up like this.”

May looked exhausted, massaging her temples. Charles, your dad hasn’t come home in forever, and he won’t even answer his phone. I don’t think he’s ever coming back. Just hurry up and give your grandfather a grandchild, will you?”

Even though Dylan never comes home, he’s still in charge of all the Sinclair Group’s overseas stuff. The guy pretty much calls the shots

Charles lowered his eyes, his face stayed soft, but nobody could ever tell what was actually going on in his head. Okay,he replied quietly

The car stopped outside the rehab centerone that belonged to the Sinclair family, staffed with nothing but seasoned pros

The staff wasted no time; soon Renee was being led inside

May hesitated a moment, but forced herself to be firm. You need to keep a close eye on her, alright? She broke her leg not long ago and really needs rest.”

Don’t worry, Mrs. Sinclair. We’ll make sure she’s safe,” promised one of the staff

After everything she’d been through, May was totally spent. Handing Renee over, at least, let her breathe a little easier

Yolanda stared at the rehab centerit looked more like lockdown than a place to recover. They could dress it up as careall they wanted, but really, it was just to keep her under surveillance. If Renee kept crossing paths with strangers here, she’d only spiral further. Honestly, it was just a ticking time bomb before she went fullon mental

Joey, you can finally rest in peace,Yolanda thought

Yolanda lowered her gaze as Charles pulled her close, his arm settling around her shoulders. Let’s head back.”

YeahYolanda murmured, her voice barely above a whisper

On the way back, May insisted on taking a separate car. She grabbed Charles’s hand, her voice low and urgent

Charles, you really need to plan ahead. The spot of Sinclair heir should be yours and yours alone.”

Charles offered a reassuring smile and patted her hand. Just take care of yourself, okay? And quit digging into Dad’s past. All these years and you’ve got nothingit just means they’ve covered their tracks. I’m betting they’ve switched names by now.”

For a second, May’s face contorted with rage before a stabbing headache hit and she pressed a hand to her temple

All this stress lately was really doing her in

That woman’s brat was studying at Beloris University back then. I went out of my way to mess up his academic record, but after that, he disappeared. I combed all of Beloris and couldn’t find a shred of info. He must’ve taken on a whole new identity, she muttered through clenched teeth

After all his digging, Charles had come up with only one leadIan Sinclair, the student who’d been expelled

But just like May said, everyone in Beloris with that name was someone else entirelynot the one they were after

Plus, every single photo had been wiped from existence. Dylan really pulled out all the stops covering for his

secret son

Charles felt nothing inside. Mom, just get in the car. Back then, Dad never took that woman seriouslyit was just a fling to him.”

All that supposed pity now? Purely the kind of latearriving guilt men get. If Dylan had ever truly loved her, he wouldn’t have lied from the start. He was already engaged, May was pregnant, and he was stringing both alongone with status, one just a regular beauty, the clingy type who worshiped him

Dylan tried to have his cake and eat it too, but slipped up and got exposed by the Yates family, forcing him to cut everything off ASAP

He even handed her off to one of his guys, and the Yates family bought it, thinking she was just his subordinate’s girl now

The Yates family was ruthlessthey actually forced Dylan to watch her sleep with his own subordinate, just to make sure he’d finally be done with her for good

No one ever really cared about what happened to her. As for her fate later on? Nobody truly knows. Maybe Dylan actually tried to find her againwho can say

Titan Part 1: The Discovery of BetrayalYolanda Grant’s marriage was built on patience, sacrifice, and quiet endurance — but that illusion shattered in one night. It was late when she arrived at a dark, empty alley after receiving a mysterious message with an address. At first, she thought it was a misunderstanding. After all, her husband Charles Sinclair — a man of wealth, power, and refined taste — would never lower himself to something so vulgar. But when she saw him holding a young woman in his arms, kissing and touching her like a man possessed, every ounce of denial drained from her. Charles, the proud and disciplined businessman, was cheating — and in a filthy alleyway, no less.Part 2: The Scene of HumiliationFrom the safety of her car, Yolanda watched as the scene unfolded. The woman clinging to Charles was frail, trembling, and emotional, like a flower blooming in the mud. The surroundings — the stained floor, damp walls, and suffocating darkness — mocked everything Charles had always claimed to be. This wasn’t just infidelity; it was degradation. Yolanda’s mind swirled with disbelief. Her husband, who obsessed over class and perfection, had become a man of impulse and dirt. She didn’t confront him or make a scene; she didn’t even cry. Instead, she leaned back in her seat, numb, realizing that her marriage was already over in spirit.Part 3: Two Years of DevotionAs she sat there, flashes of the past flooded her mind. Two years of marriage — two years of her trying to please him in every way. She had known from the start that Charles didn’t love her. On their wedding day, he had made it painfully clear that his heart already belonged to another woman. Still, Yolanda married him out of hope, out of love, out of the foolish belief that devotion could melt even the coldest heart. She gave up her career, her ambitions, and her independence, just to prove she was worthy of him. She cared for him like a nurse for her patient — cooking his meals, planning his wardrobe, and tending to every detail of his life. And in return, she got nothing but distance and silence.Part 4: The Breaking PointNow, watching him entwined with another woman, everything she had built inside her — the patience, the sacrifice, the illusion — collapsed. The man she had once called her husband had become unrecognizable. He had torn off his noble mask and revealed himself as nothing more than a beast driven by desire. Yolanda felt like she’d been slapped, her dignity shattered into pieces. But instead of screaming or crying, she felt an eerie calm. Her pain was too deep to express. All she could think was: This marriage must end.Part 5: Charles’s UneaseWhile Yolanda drove home, Charles suddenly sensed that something was wrong. The headlights of a passing car illuminated his face, and a chill ran down his spine. He didn’t know whose car it was, but unease stirred in his chest. The girl in his arms whimpered for his attention, but his mind was already elsewhere. Straightening his clothes, he pulled away coldly. “That’s enough for tonight,” he said flatly. “The company’s got big projects. I can’t afford divorce rumors right now.” His words revealed not love, but calculation — every move guided by image and control. The girl, blinded by her feelings, agreed softly, claiming she would wait. But to Charles, it was just another temporary indulgence.Part 6: The Return HomeWhen Yolanda returned home, the villa felt colder than ever. She had just come out of the shower when Charles entered the bedroom, carrying his jacket. He looked as immaculate as always — tall, handsome, commanding — but tonight, his arrogance seemed cruel. On his pristine white shirt, Yolanda noticed a faint smear of pink lip gloss. She had never worn lip gloss; she hated its stickiness. That small, shiny mark told her everything she needed to know. As she dried her hair, she kept her expression neutral, unwilling to give him the satisfaction of seeing her pain.Part 7: The Cold ConversationCharles glanced at her and asked casually, “When did you get back?”“This afternoon,” she replied. He loosened his tie, unbuttoning his shirt as if nothing had happened. “I was out playing golf tonight,” he added. The lie rolled off his tongue effortlessly. Through the reflection in the window, Yolanda saw the dirt on his back — proof that golf wasn’t the only game he’d been playing. With quiet fury, she shot back, “Then I guess you scored plenty of holes. Congrats.”Her sarcasm caught him off guard. For the first time, he frowned, slightly unsettled. He wasn’t used to this tone from her — the woman who once worshiped him now sounded indifferent, almost mocking.Part 8: His Cruel ArroganceInstead of apologizing, Charles smirked and wrapped his arm around her waist. “Are you mad? I told you when we got married that I didn’t love you. If you’re that unhappy, find someone else to cheat with.” His words cut through her like a blade. It wasn’t just betrayal anymore — it was humiliation. He treated her heartbreak as an inconvenience, as if her pain were irrelevant. Inside, Yolanda’s chest felt like it was being strangled with wire, every breath searing. Yet she stayed silent. Her quietness, once a sign of love, now turned into armor.Part 9: The Memory of InnocenceIn that moment, Yolanda’s mind drifted back to when she first met Charles. She was young, freshly adopted into the Grant family, and he was already the picture of perfection — disciplined, confident, untouchable. Back then, she looked at him with admiration and love. To her, he was everything she aspired to be. Never in her wildest dreams did she imagine that this same man would someday make her feel worthless. All those years of love, of marriage, of giving — they now felt like a cruel joke.Part 10: A New Beginning Hidden in the Word “Fine”Charles chuckled when she finally said, “Fine.” To him, it was just another empty threat, another outburst that would fade with time. He kissed her cheek, confident that her love would keep her shackled to him forever. What he didn’t realize was that this time, “Fine” wasn’t surrender — it was goodbye. Behind her calm eyes, Yolanda had already made her decision. The love that once bound her had turned to ash, and from that ash, something new was forming — strength.Chapter 1 ends with Yolanda’s quiet determination to take back her life. She won’t cry or beg anymore. This time, she’ll walk away — not as a broken wife, but as a woman reborn through betrayal.
