I’m lying on my bed all morning, thinking. My mind wanders over everything that happened last night. Last night was amazing, but I can’t shake the guilt that’s now eating me up inside. I wonder if the twins are also feeling the same way. Do they also think we’ve done something unthinkable?

Alone With My Twin Stepbrothers
I twist over to the side. Maybe they don’t. Maybe they’re off somewhere laughing at the fact that I am too easy to lure into their snare. That thought somehow make me feel worse about
the entire thing.
Footsteps echo from the hallway, interrupting my thoughts. The twins are back. One set of footsteps fades into the bathroom next to my room, while the other stops right outside my door. A soft knock follows, and then Aiden’s voice.
“Ella, you awake?”
My throat tightens. Is he looking forward to a… third round? I swallow hard and force myself to move. My legs carry me to the door before my brain catches up, and when I open it, I can’t bring myself to look him in the eye. Instead, I bolt back to my bed, yanking the blanket over me. Foolish, I know. He’s already seen every inch of me, touched and tasted everything. If I can reach into his brain and remove the memories of what I look like naked, I would.
Aiden steps inside, wearing nothing but blue athletic shorts. His skin glistens slightly from exercise, his hair damp. He shuts the door behind him and moves to sit on the edge of my bed. He stares at me with anxious eyes as he watches me hide beneath the covers, leaving only enough room for my eyes.
“You sure you’re okay?” His brows knit together, genuine concern etched across his face. “You look like you’re trying to hide from me,” he sighs and runs his fingers through his damp hair.
“I feel awkward after we… we do that thing,” I stammer after a long silence.
He exhales, a small smile tugging at his lips. “Actually, that’s why I came to talk to you.” I slowly drop part of the blanket, revealing more of my face to him.
“I know you might be worried about what this all means, but I want you to know that what happens between us is more than just some one–night stand. It means so much more to me
than that.”
His words catch me off guard. “What?”
“I’ve liked you for years,” he admits, his voice steady, as if he’s been waiting a lifetime to say it. “I wouldn’t have driven away all those guys around you otherwise. You never notice.“I chuck at his remark, but I’m lost as to how any of it was possible. They never pay any attention to me, unless it’s to annoy me or pick on me in some way.
