In this intense chapter, Kenneth confronts Alice with a report that exposes her deceit, accusing her of framing Christina and lying about the child she is carrying. Kenneth’s anger is palpable as he grabs Alice forcefully, revealing that he already knows about her wrongdoings. Alice, overwhelmed and desperate, admits to trying to get rid of the child because she feared Kenneth would not accept her if the baby was not his. Her confession only fuels Kenneth’s disgust and rage, especially because of the harm she caused to Christina, who had sacrificed so much for him.

 

As the confrontation escalates, Kenneth violently throws Alice aside, nearly strangling her in his fury. Alice, terrified for her life, lashes out by throwing objects at him, breaking a photo frame of Kenneth and Christina. Kenneth’s fury intensifies, and when Alice tries to call the police, he seizes her phone and makes the call himself, reporting a suspected murder. Despite Alice’s protests and screams, Kenneth drags her across the floor, causing her pain and bleeding from the glass shards.

 

The commotion draws Sabrina, Kenneth’s mother, who intervenes by hitting Kenneth and scolding him for harming Alice, especially since she is still recovering postpartum. However, upon learning from Kenneth that Alice has been lying and that the child is not his, Sabrina’s attitude shifts drastically. She becomes enraged at Alice, kicking her in the stomach and verbally abusing her. Alice, weakened and in agony, can only curl up and cry as Kenneth watches coldly, his heart unmoved, instead haunted by memories of Christina’s past suffering.

“Kenny! This must be fake! Where did you get this report? I know! It must have been Christina who gave it to you, right? She’s deliberately trying to frame me! With her family background and status, it’s easy for her to fabricate evidence!”

Kenneth grabbed her chin with such force that it felt as if he was about to crush her bones.

Alice had never seen Kenneth look so terrifying. Her psychological defenses completely collapsed. Her legs gave out, and she fell to her knees right in front of him.
