Christina chuckled softly and poked his forehead. “I’m really fine, don’t worry. Luckily, you arrived just in time.” 

No sooner had she finished speaking than Valentin grabbed her wrist. 

“Still saying you’re not hurt?” 

Following his gaze, she saw the wound at the base of her thumb, cut by the gun’s grip during her struggle. 

If it weren’t for Valentin, she wouldn’t have even noticed. 

Without another word, Valentin took out a medical kit and carefully cleaned and bandaged her wound

Valentin was courteous and did not look at her with the pity or curiosity that others did. Instead, he acted like an old friend she hadn’t seen in years, naturally setting down the items and pouring her a bowl of soup, placing it by her hand. 

“Be careful, it’s hot.”
