Christina’s tone was uncharacteristically firm. “I want to bring him home myself.” 

She couldn’t wait any longer. 

She couldn’t wait for him to come back in two days. 

She couldn’t wait to see him right away. 

She wanted to tell him immediately that she remembered–she remembered he was her Val, remembered all the forgotten past between them. 

She had just changed her clothes and come downstairs, ready to leave, when the garden gate opened. 

A familiar figure entered her sight. 

“Christy, where are you going?” 

Christina looked up abruptly. The moment their eyes met, she broke into a radiant smile, rushed toward Valentin, and hugged him tightly. 

Valentin was overwhelmed with joy, but still frowned the moment he touched her icy fingers. 

“Why aren’t you wearing more? Your hands are freezing.”
