Chapter 176
Madison’s POV
I smiled and entered the room, noticing he was sitting on the couch in the living area, putting on his shoes. When he bent over, he winced slightly, as if in
pain.
“Were you injured in battle?” I asked, my heart aching with concern. hadn’t heard about this
“I’m good.” He finished with his shoes and looked at me. “What is it, Madison?”

“Oh, I’m sorry to bother you. I know you’ve been busy since you got back. I just wanted to see you. I’ve missed you terribly, I said, my voice betraying both the longing that had consumed me during our separation.
“Okay.” He just looked at her with those heavy eyes–that was it.
What did his “okay” mean?! Not “I missed you too,” not “come here and let me hold you, my fiancée,” not “I thought about you every day I was gone.
Just a simple “okay“?!
But she knew he was a man of few words, and she tried to keep that in the forefront of her mind as she continued.
“So…” I said, pushing on, I was thinking that you’d probably want to return to the front lines soon, and if that’s the case, maybe… we should just go ahead and get married while you’re here. Right away. No more waiting.”
I froze, my hands gripping the back of the chair opposite where he sat, holding my breath, praying to the Moon Goddess that he would say yes.
Nathan stared at me, his expression unreadable. I thought I saw something flicker in his eyes, but I couldn’t tell what it was–a mixture of passion and… anger?
Surely not… and then, he said, “All right.”
Now it was my turn to stare at him. “What did you say?” I asked, feeling like I couldn’t possibly have heard him correctly.
He actually agreed to marry me! He must really like me, right? My crush likes me back!
I’m so incredibly happy. I feel like I’m the luckiest woman in the whole world!
He stood up, tucking in his shirt, and I realized he’d been preparing to leave the room. “I said all right, Madison. How many days do you need? Two days? Is that enough?
–“Y–yes,‘ I stammered.
He said YES!
His back was to me as he gathered items from the coffee table, but when he straightened, I couldn’t resist throwing myself at him, wrapping my arms around
his waist.
‘Oh, thank you, Nathan!” I beamed, my heart soaring with joy. He grunted at the sudden embrace, and I remembered his injury. “Sorry!” I eased back, hands lingering on his arms, my smile unstoppable. “I’m just so thrilled!”
“Fine, Madison. Go plan,” he said, stepping away, his usual cold distance unchanged.
But then, this was an arranged marriage, after all.
“Yes, I will,” I said.
He could learn to love me later. Still, I stood there, staring at him. He was so handsome. And he would soon be my husband. I couldn’t help but smile.

Honey, can I have a kiss?” I asked softly.
He looked a bit awkward, then replied, “Next time I’ll initiate it myself. You won’t need to ask.”
Hearing this, I couldn’t help but smile sweetly. Maybe there was hope for us after all.
‘Go, Madison… before Lchange my mind.”
“Right!” I said, turning to leave. “We’ll have the most beautiful wedding ever! I exclaimed excitedly, knowing I had a lot of work to do.
He didn’t respond, which shouldn’t have surprised me. My future husband was a man of few words.
That was okay. I was about to become the Luna of the Ironjaw pack.
I hurried back to my father’s chambers to share the good news, turning a corner too quickly and colliding with a maid carrying an armful of towels. The maid fell hard to the floor, towels scattering everywhere.
Why are all the maids in my way?!
“Watch where you’re going!” I shouted at the maid who lay groaning on share with my father.

I burst into my father’s office again, and he looked at me, lifting his head from his desk with a groan. “Didn’t I tell you to knock?” he asked.
I ignored him. He hadn’t said I needed to knock on his door. Clapping my hands together, I announced, “He said yes!”
Father’s eyes widened, and he stood up, setting down everything he’d been holding, “He did?”
“Yes!”
“Alpha Nathan?”
‘Yes!”
“Said you could have the wedding early?”
“Yes!” Why was he so strongly doubting me?
He came around the desk and opened his arms to embrace me. “Well done, Madison. Well done!”
David appeared in the doorway as my father patted my back, hugging me. “Alright, now you have to start planning. Go on.”
“Yes, I will.”
As I left the room, I heard my father say, “David, Nathan agreed to move up the wedding, so I guess those rumors about Queen Elizabeth must be true…”
I frowned. What rumors?

I murmured to myself, “My Nathan is finally mine.”
the queen for later.
My mind wandered, picturing Nathan kissing my body, gently lifting my shirt, his hands slowly gliding to my breast, teasing it with soft kisses.
A rush of warmth flooded me, my body responding eagerly. His fingers slipped beneath my panties, brushing my clit, sending shivers through me,
