The Alpha’s Purchased Slave
Chapter 271
Madison’s POV
I lay sprawled across Kael’s massive bed, my body still tingling from our intense encounter.
The silken sheets barely covered my naked form, and I could feel his eyes roaming over me appreciatively.
“You naughty little slut,” Kael said with a smile. “What were you trying to tell me earlier before we got… distracted?”
I laughed, rolling onto my side to face him. “Don’t act like you didn’t enjoy it, I purred, nestling against his broad chest. His skin was hot against mine, that delicious Alpha warmth radiating from him.
I was about to share my news when a sharp knock interrupted us.
‘Sir, Miss Reynolds, came a voice from outside. “King Dylan requests your presence. Immediately.”
Kael tensed beside me. “My father is here?”
“Yes, sir, the messenger confirmed.
“Tell him we’ll be right there,” Kael replied, his tone shifting to something more formal.
After the footsteps receded, I pouted. “Do we have to go?”
I traced lazy circles on his chest, hoping to delay our departure. The thought of leaying this warm bed for a meeting was irritating, even if it was with the king.
Kael caught my wrist, his grip firm but not painful.
“Be my girl, you know what to do,” he warned. “You will be the queen of an empire, Madison. I’ll give you the life you deserve. Don’t disappoint me.”
His words sent a thrill through me.
Queen.
Power.
Everything I deserved and had been denied. I sat up, letting the sheet fall away shamelessly.
“You don’t need to tell me what to do, I replied with confidence. “I understand perfectly.”
Female servants entered with fresh clothing silken garments that felt luxurious against my skin. As they helped me dress, I admired the elaborate designs, the rich fabrics, the clear markers of status and wealth.
This is what I was born for!
King Dylan’s meeting room was lavish yet intimidating, with at least twenty guards positioned around the perimeter.
Kael strode in with the confidence of a born leader, and I matched his pace, keeping my head high.
“Father!” Kael called out. “I hear Jason has agreed to let us keep about half the southern territories? Congratulations.”
Dylan turned, his eyes sharp and calculating. “Kael, they didn’t let us keep anything. We forced them to accept it!”
I studied Dylan carefully. He resembled Kael somewhat, though he was significantly smaller in build.
His face wore an angry, evil expression, his eyes constantly alert as if expecting an attack.

Most notably, he was missing an arm from the elbow down. I couldn’t help comparing him to my mate and finding him wanting
–
Kael was superior in every way stronger, more magnificent. I could hardly wait for the day when Kael would be king and I his queen.
“Of course, Father,” Kael agreed smoothly. “Jason is a piece of garbage compared to you. His tone was perfectly balanced between respect and flattery, “Though his cousin Nathan-*
At the mention of Nathan’s name, Dylan’s smile vanished completely.
Kael noticed the change immediately. “Father, this is Madison, my mate,” he pivoted, gesturing toward me.
I dipped into a perfect curtsy, projecting the image of the dutiful daughter–in–law. “Your Majesty.”
While I maintained a demure expression, my mind was racing with calculations.
Dylan clearly had strong feelings about Nathan – hatred, most likely. I could use that.
The old king might be less impressive than his son, but he still wielded considerable power. Gaining his trust would be essential for my plan.
Dylan’s eyes scrutinized me from head to toe, his gaze analytical and cold.
‘Very good. Madison, is it? I’ve heard about you,” he said. “Weren’t you the one rejected by that damned Nathan at your wedding?”
Anger flared hot and instant within me at the reminder of that humiliation. My fingers curled into my palms, I fought to maintain my composure.
