“Unfortunately, she had no idea how much your father would change after her death, Selena said softly. I’m sorry,”
I nodded, swallowing hard. It was time. I turned to Gina, who had been standing nearby with Victoria. Gina, could you hold Maten for me? I red to say few private words with Selena at my mother’s grave.”
“Of course!‘ Gina stepped forward eagerly, taking Mateo into her arms. He went willingly, fascinated by her long hair.
I knelt at the grave, which I now help me…”

was actually part of an ancient altar. Closing my eyes, I pretended to pray for Nathan’s benefit. Mother, guide me.
“Selena, can we use this place for the ritual?” I asked through our mind link..
“Yes, Your Majesty. But there’s no guarantee it will work.”
“It will.”
“I still don’t think this is a good idea.”
“It’s necessary. We can’t win this war alone. We need Nathan with us–the real Nathan. This is my command, Selena!”
Jason, Dylan, and Madison were waiting to destroy us all. The Nexus pack couldn’t stand against their combined forces. We needed the Alpha of Ironjaw, the kingdom’s protector–we needed Nathan back.
“Yes, we can perform the ritual here,” Selena reluctantly agreed. “But I must warn you, if you feel overwhelmed, you must stop immediately! And you still remember the spell that I taught you, right?”
“Yes.”
“Got it!” Selena used the mind link to alert the others to prepare.
I took a deep breath and called out, “Nathan, could you come here for a moment?”
He raised an eyebrow, the red in his eyes still visible. “Me?”
I nodded. “I’d like you to join me in prayer at my mother’s grave.” When he hesitated, I added, “You’re the father of her grandson… it would mean a lot to
me.”
Nathan stared at me for a long moment, then drew a deep breath and walked over, taking my outstretched hand. His palm felt rough against mine, callused from weeks in the wilderness.
We stood hand in hand around my mother’s grave. I looked at Selena and nodded, signaling her to begin.
Oh, sacred Moon Goddess above, Selena began to chant, “we beseech you to look upon us today and grant us your eternal love as we celebrate the life of Rachel’s mother, the former Moon Queen Marie…”
I closed my eyes, focusing on Selena’s words, feeling energy beginning to gather around us.
Selena continued, her voice growing stronger. “Now, Moon Goddess, we ask for a miracle. We pray for your divine grace to descend upon the one among us who has lost his soul.”
Nathan’s body tensed, his grip on my hand tightening painfully. His eyes snapped open.
‘Grant our Queen the power she needs to do your work!” Selena quickly said.
I took over, reciting the ancient language Selena had taught me. “Ventia de Astri, fa levo ni doresta ter equilibria mu essentia de fa monta de clarita
resonatia de ila eternian!”
Nathan’s eyes widened in shock. “You,.. you-

Chapter 274
I repeated the incantation faster, the words tumbling from my lips as Nathan tried to pull away.
The warriors behind him moved in, grabbing his arms. He fought against them, his strength terrifying, but there were too many of them
The power of the words and the rapid repetition drained me quickly.
My knees buckled, and I collapsed beside my mother’s grave, still chanting.
Nathan began to groan, the sound growing louder until it transformed into a howl of agony. The warriors released him as he fell to his knees beside me, his body twisting in pain.
“That’s enough, Selena urged. “Stop now!”
I finished the chant one final time, then placed my hand on Nathan’s chest. The moment I touched him, energy surged between us like an electrical current
It shocked through me too, and I gasped as an incredible pressure crushed my chest.
Minutes later, the pressure vanished, and I gulped in air. Nathan did the same, his eyes tightly closed, arms crossed over his chest.
Finally, Nathan stopped moving, though his eyes remained closed. Sweat beaded on my forehead, and I felt completely drained. I nodded at Selena to let her know I could handle the ritual.
Selena visibly relaxed, though her eyes remained fixed warily on Nathan.
In my mind, I continued praying to the Moon Goddess: “Moon Goddess, guide your power to save my beloved from the path of destruction that awaits him.”
A long hour passed before Nathan finally woke up.
