Chapter 341
Rachel’s POV
After reconciling with Nathan, life felt infused with warmth, joy spreading from deep within me, a constant smile on my face and a sparkle in
my eyes.
Now I’ve shed my anxiety and confusion, becoming more positive and motivated, working hard to transform myself, knowing deeply that someone will always support me and grow alongside me.
The days marched on, and so did we–closer to Emerald City.
Our army grew stronger the closer we got, while our enemies grew weaker. King Jason and Dylan were no friends, and David was causing significant damage to Dylan’s troops.
Jason’s men were retreating, going back to fight for their king. The alliance between Jason and Dylan was falling apart.
We decided to strike Emerald City first, while David kept Dylan occupied. We couldn’t give King Jason time to rebuild his army.
We encountered some skirmishes along the way but suffered no major losses. Not a single werewolf warrior died.
A week before our planned attack on Emerald City, we set up camp within sight of the watchtowers of Emerald Castle.
It felt strange being back, remembering everything that had happened within those walls–the moment Nathan had forcefully kissed me, pinning me to the bed, then running his tongue across my breast, making me blush…
The morning we planned to attack, Tyler approached us, interrupting my wandering thoughts. “Are we ready to move in?”
I hesitated, feeling somewhat embarrassed before collecting myself to analyze the situation. “Many innocent werewolf civilians are sheltering here. Perhaps we should try another approach first.”
“Another approach? Nathan asked. “My Luna, what do you have in mind?”
My heart fluttered uncontrollably at hearing him call me “my Luna,” those two simple words sending waves of warmth through my entire body.
I secretly glanced around to see if anyone had noticed. Well, it/seemed no one had.
“Let’s see if King Jason and his queen are willing to discuss peace,” I suggested. “I believe the people here have had enough bloodshed. Many of them may be confused about who they should be loyal to.” I remembered Clara, the spy we had captured.
Caspian answered the unspoken question of what we’d do if King Jason refused. “Then at least we tried to take Emerald City peacefully. We can attack and know that the blood spilled is on their hands, not ours.”
Nathan studied my face for a moment, and seeing I wouldn’t budge, he nodded.
“Send a messenger,” he told Tyler.
Hours later, Nathan, Tyler, and I met with King/Jason and his queen, Elizabeth, under a white flag of truce.
Jason and Elizabeth looked exhausted and sickly. The terms of the meeting allowed only the king, queen, and a few of their most trusted advisors to attend the private meeting.
Tyler bowed slightly out of respect. “Thank you for meeting with us, Your Majesty.”
“You didn’t give us much choice,” Jason said calmly. “If we refused, you would attack and kill many innocent werewolves.”

“Your Majesty,” Tyler addressed Jason politely but bluntly, allow me to remind you that the blood of Innocents in this wat la not on tracentes Alpha Nathan’s hands.
Nathan is the cause of all this! Jason countered.
“We all know that was just an excuse, Tyler said firmly. “You had a chance to end this war months ago when Dylan approached Emerald city, Instead of letting Alpha Nathan lead armies against our enemies, you betrayed your cousin and banished the strongest defense leader of the country. As a result, this war has dragged on, and your people continue to suffer! And now, you’ve lost your kingdom!*
King Jason’s jaw tightened, clearly

Tyler, Nathan, and I were momentarily speechless.
“Your Majesty… Tyler frowned at Elizabeth.
She gazed at her mate tenderly. “Jason has done everything for me and… our child, but he can be stubborn at times. I thought it would be better if he stayed quiet during the meeting.”
Looking at Jason again, I realized he was merely unconscious, not hurt.
Elizabeth’s advisor moved Jason to a stretcher.
She lifted her chin, her voice firm and decisive. “Yes, we will surrender the throne, but I have one condition.”
“You’re not in a position to bargain,” Nathan said.
Elizabeth smiled confidently, ignoring Nathan and turning to me instead.
“I have news about Carter,” she said, staring at me. “I would like to trade this information for my life and the life of my mate.”
I gasped. They know where Carter is. Carter is still alive!
Elizabeth tilted her head. “What do you say, Rachel?”
The air in the office hung thick with tension as Elizabeth’s words echoed between us. Her calculating eyes remained fixed on mine, waiting for my response. Behind me, Nathan stood silent, his presence reassuring yet distant–letting me make this decision on my own.
“How do I know you’re not lying to me?” I challenged, crossing my arms defensively.
Elizabeth’s lips curved into a slight smile. “I have no reason to lie, Rachel. Lies won’t serve me now.” She smoothed her hands over her elegant dress. “I need your guarantee that my mate and I will be allowed to leave Emerald City safely. If the information proves genuine, I know you’ll honor your word.”
I considered her carefully. Elizabeth was manipulative and ruthless, but she wasn’t stupid.
Lying would only worsen her situation, not improve it. With her life hanging by a thread, she wouldn’t risk everything on a bluff.
My eyes drifted to Nathan, then to Tyler. Both men remained expressionless, offering no guidance. This was my burden to bear. “Alright, I finally said, steadying my voice despite my racing heart. I promise your life and your mate’s life will be spared.*
Chapter 341
Elizabeth’s shoulders relaxed slightly as she reached into her sleève, producing a folded piece of paper. This is a letter David wrote to Jason. It arrived three days ago.”
