Chapter 362
Victoria’s POV
“Move your elbow before I bite it off,” 1 hissed at Tyler, trying to find a comfortable position in the bushes surrounding Nathan’s secret garden.
“Sorry, but space is limited here,” Tyler whispered back, shifting slightly to give me a few more inches.
“These damn bushes are practically scalping me,” Gina complained, yanking a twig from her hair with a wince. “This better be worth it.”
This whole spying mission had been Gina’s idea. When she’d discovered Nathan’s proposal plans through some masterful snooping, she’d insisted we all needed to witness it firsthand.
I’d agreed immediately–no way was I missing Rachel’s face when Nathan popped the question.
I’m the real hero here! I helped Rachel find her ring!
Apollo squirmed beside me, his large frame particularly unsuited for bush–hiding. “These are new jeans,” he muttered, frowning at a fresh tear along the knee. “And Nathan can definitely smell us, you know.”
“So what?” Gina shrugged, peering through the foliage. “He’s not stupid enough to interrupt his own proposal to chase us down.”
“Maybe not now,” I whispered, “but he’ll make us pay for it later.”
“Shh!! Tyler silenced us with a frantic wave. “Don’t you want to hear her answer?!”
We all froze, straining to hear Rachel’s response to Nathan’s heartfelt proposal. Through the gaps in the bushes, I could see her standing there, tears streaming down her face, her hands trembling as Nathan knelt before her with that beautiful family heirloom ring.
Apollo says, “Hey guys, look at Nathan’s hands – they’re shaking! Haha, I can’t believe he’s actually trembling!”
I smack Apollo on the head and say, “That’s because Nathan is madly in love with Rachel. They’ve been through so much together.”
Gina, with tears in her eyes, says, “Yeah, they really have. It’s been so tough. They’ve overcome so many misunderstandings.”
Just as I was about to speak, Rachel started talking, so I quickly shut my mouth.
“Yes…” she finally said, her voice soft but unmistakable. “Yes!”
Rachel threw herself into Nathan’s arms. Little Mateo giggled from his seat, clapping his tiny hands as if he understood the significance of the
moment.
I felt my throat tighten, hot tears pricking behind my eyes. Beside me, Gina was openly crying, though she’d deny it later if anyone mentioned
- it.
“We’re going to have to help plan a wedding,” I whispered, my voice thick with emotion.
Apollo nodded proudly. “I’ve got to admit, he did great! What an incredible proposal!”
“He’s my brother,” Gina said, wiping away a tear while trying to look dignified. “We have greatness running through our veins. Well done, brother!”
We stayed hidden until darkness fell and Nathan and Rachel finally left the garden, heading back to the castle for the celebration dinner we knew Nathan had arranged. Only then did we crawl out, brushing leaves and twigs from our clothes.
“Alpha’s going to kill us for eavesdropping,” Apollo said, picking burrs from his shirt.

“Probably, Tyler agreed. “But he’ll be too happy to care for a while at least.”
“Victoria, Gina!” Rachel’s excited voice echoed down the corridor as we tried to sneak back to our rooms to change. “Nathan proposed to me!
She rushed forward and pulled us both into a tight hug. I hugged her back, genuinely happy despite already knowing her news.
Rachel pulled back, her brow furrowing as she took in our disheveled appearance. “What happened to you all?”
We exchanged guilty glances.
“Oh, this,” I said casually, plucking a leaf from my hair. “You know. We’ve been training.”
“Yeah… combat training,” Apollo added helpfully.
Tyler coughed. “In the mud.”
Rachel looked bewildered but seemed to accept our flimsy excuse. “Well, go clean up. I want to tell you everything at dinner!”
The celebration dinner in the garden was magical. Moonlight and starlight mingled with modern LED string lights, while fireflies danced between tables.
Laughter and music filled the air as everyone congratulated the newly engaged couple.
After hugging Rachel once more and admiring her ring up close, I wandered to the edge of the garden, needing a moment alone with my thoughts. I found myself at the cliff edge that bordered the royal gardens of Emerald City.
“This used to be the ugliest, most broken part of Emerald City,” I murmured to myself, remembering how this cliff had once been barren and jagged.
“But now I realize this cliff is actually surprisingly beautiful,” I continued when I heard Apollo’s familiar footsteps behind me.
“I agree,” he said softly, coming to stand beside me.
“After all, what people see depends on what they feel,” I said, watching the moonlight dance across the water far below.
Apollo’s eyes never left my face. “Like how with you standing here, this place is beautiful to me.”
I turned to him, my heart suddenly racing. “Because you’re here too.”
The breeze played with my hair as Apollo took my hands in his. His touch sent familiar tingles up my arms.
“From the moment I met you, my life finally had meaning,” he said, his voice deep with emotion. He reached into his suit pocket and pulled out
a small box.
‘Apollo… what is that?” I asked, my heart pounding so hard I was sure he could hear it.
“Nathan’s determination to propose to Rachel reminded me of something I’ve been carrying around for a while,” he said. “I can t–or rather, I don’t want to live without you, Victoria.”
I said firmly, squeezing his hands, “I’m with you, Apollo. I love you.”
He opened the box to reveal a delicate silver necklace–the exact one I’d been admiring with Rachel at the castle marketplace.
“Oh! It’s beautiful…” I breathed as he fastened it around my neck.
I touched it gingerly, admiring how it caught the moonlight, though I felt a tiny pang of disappointment. Then Apollo suddenly dropped to one

knee, producing a djamond ring that perfectly complemented the necklace.
“Victoria, will you marry me?” he asked, his eyes shining with sincerity.
“Of course I will!” 1 cried.
Then he put the ring on my finger. I quickly helped him up and rushed into his embrace.
Apollo laughed, lifting me up and spinning me around. Above the castle, fireworks suddenly exploded into the night sky.
“Look,” I said, tears in my eyes. “The whole city is celebrating the Alpha and Luna’s engagement! I’m… I’m so happy!”
Apollo held me close. “I’m happy for them, but I’m happier for us.”
“I thought you’d never ask,” I sobbed, unable to control my tears. “I’m so happy!”
“Baby, from the moment I fell in love with you, I knew I wanted to spend my life with you,” Apollo whispered, wiping my tears with his thumb.
“I love you,” I cried as Apollo kissed away my tears, his own eyes glistening with emotion.
