“I just don’t like Seth; I wanted to annoy him. It wasn’t entirely for you.”
I knew about Kevin’s feud with my brothers, but I appreciated his actions.
“Regardless, I’m still very grateful to you. I’ll pay you back for the medical
and meal expenses.”

Kevin fiddled with his phone, catching the hint in my words that I wanted to
draw a line. He clicked his tongue, his brows slightly raised, a flicker of
displeasure flashing in his deep gaze. His handsome face wore a casual, cocky air,
radiating an untamed aura.
“I just made a big show of recruiting you as my sister. Now that Seth is gone,
and you’re cutting ties; this makes me embarrassed.”

I paused, understanding his point. He meant for me to be his sister and
home with him. I didn’t mind my brothers knowing I was staying with their
enemy, it just felt weird to be living in the Smith household, and I didn’t want to
be anyone’s sister anymore.
I looked
up at him, momentarily stunned. This time, I definitely wasn’t
mistaken; the tips of his ears were slightly red.
My thoughts drifted far away,
and a long–buried memory began to resurface-
through the courtyard wall, I could faintly hear a little boy crying, “I want a sister,

too…”
Kevin’s lazy voice broke my thoughts.

“My reputation is valuable. You stay at my place as interest; the medical and
expenses you owe me can be paid back later.”
He wasn’t negotiating; it was a domineering command. Kevin had never
coddled anyone; his arrogance surpassed even that of
my
brothers.
Before I could respond, he grabbed his coat, draping it over me.“Put it on.
You’re thin; don’t get blown away.”
I got out of Kevin’s car, wrapped in his coat. When I looked up, I realized it
was parked in front of my family home. I was confused until I heard Sarah’s voice:
“Bella is back! Brothers are so worried about you!”
I turned my head. Sarah, in a down parka and fuzzy hat, was building a
snowman. When she spoke, Seth looked up. The usually impatient one was now
helping the supposedly sickly Sarah build a snowman.
