Christina instinctively stepped back, but before she could even scream, Kenneth covered her mouth and dragged her into a car. 

Inside the car, Kenneth knelt in front of her. 

“Christy, I’m begging you, please come back to me, okay?” 

There was not the slightest trace of emotion on Christina’s face. She protected her belly and kept retreating into the comer. 

“Kenneth. I thought the police made it very clear to you last time. My child and I have nothing to do with you anymore. This time I can pretend nothing happened, but if there is a next time, I will call the police!” 

Seeing that she remained distant, Kenneth finally dropped all pretense and slowly stood up. 

He snatched the phone Christina had hidden behind her back, opened the window, and threw it out in one swift motion. 

“Nothing to do with me? How could that be possible!” Kenneth’s voice suddenly became shrill. 

He grabbed her wrist with astonishing strength, his eyes twisted, as if he wanted to devour her alive. 

“Christy, tell me, was it that bastard Valentin who forced you? Don’t worry, as long as I’m here, I won’t let him hurt you!”

“Yes! I’m insane! Driven mad by you!” Kenneth screamed even louder. 

His body was trembling, but the strength in his hand did not lessen in the slightest. 

“Christy, you weren’t like this before! You used to be so kind! You loved me so much! You could never bear to treat me like this! Why, why are you so cruel to me now!” 

Looking at his twisted face, Christina suddenly felt it was all incredibly ironic. 

“Kenneth, wipe that so–called look of deep affection off your face. It disgusts me.” 

“Now you come begging for my forgiveness? Where were you when Alice bullied and framed me? Where were you when you forced me to give blood and nearly killed me? Now I’m married, living well, my husband loves me, and yet you cling to me like a haunting ghost! Can you just disappear from my life!” 

Kenneth clutched his chest and stepped back, his eyes full of pain. 

Christina forcefully shook off his hand, her eyes filled with contempt. “Or is it that you just enjoy this sense of betrayal? Cheating on your wife with a mistress, and after the divorce, you still can’t let go of someone else’s wife?” 

Kenneth fell into complete silence. 

He didn’t speak again until they reached their destination. 

Kenneth took Christina out of the car to a small villa on the outskirts of the city. 

When the door opened, the room was filled with photos from their past, and even the room itself was piled high with baby supplies.
