“Christy, if you keep resisting me like this, I won’t hesitate to kill this child…” 

He held a fruit knife, pressing it closer to her abdomen, his eyes filled with utter madness. 

Her stomach began to ache violently, completely out of her control. 

Christina looked at the fruit knife inching closer, then glanced out the window. Outside, a circle of bodyguards surrounded the house–there was no way for her to escape. 

In the end, she stopped struggling. 

“Kenneth, if you hurt my child, I’ll die with him!” 

As soon as she finished speaking, before Kenneth could react, Christina summoned all her strength and hurled herself against the cold wall! 

Kenneth, terrified, dropped the knife and lunged to stop her, but it was too late. Christina had used every ounce of her strength; blood gushed out, and she collapsed instantly. 

Seeing the glaring blood on the floor and the barely breathing Christina, Kenneth felt as if he had been thrown into icy water, instantly sobering up. 

“Doctor! Doctor, come quickly!” 

The doctor rushed downstairs and wheeled Christina into the prepared hospital room, leaving Kenneth alone where he stood.

“Where did you hide Christina!” 

Kenneth stood there, numb and unresponsive, as if his soul had left him. 

“Where is she!” 

Valentin’s voice was hoarse and cracking, his arm trembling uncontrollably from fear. 

He was terrified of seeing Christina battered and bruised again, just like eight months ago. 

Kenneth looked at him, then glanced down at the blood on his own hands. Suddenly, he let out a low, bitter laugh, tears mixed with blood sliding down his cheeks. 

“Upstairs, in the operating room.” 

Valentin holstered his gun and rushed upstairs. 

Two subordinates stepped forward to restrain Kenneth, who showed no intention of resisting. 

In the makeshift operating room upstairs, the doctors were working frantically to save her. 

Valentin’s heart was in his throat. “Save the mother at all costs!” 

He stared through the glass at the surgery inside, his fists clenched so tightly that his nails dug deep into his palms, blood dripping unnoticed.

At last, the door to the operating room opened. 

“Congratulations, Mr. Anderson! Both mother and daughter are safe! Mrs. Anderson fainted from excessive fright and may need some time to recover, but once the anesthesia wears off, she will wake up.
