“You want to court me…” She muttered in disbelief, and the Emperor took a few steps away from her.
“Yes, and I also promise not to lay a finger on you until you are ready.” He commended with a simple expression on his face, his arms went behind his back as he strolled off. “If you tell me the steps, I will make preparations to set up our courtship process.”
Natalia grimaced.
“Before I was captured and taken away, I told you that I was on my way to the wedding ceremony, I was dressed in my wedding attire. And you are proposing marriage to me?” He paused for a minute. “You have no regard for the man who lost his wife.”
“According to the other members of the tribe, the marriage was about to start when we interrupted.” He clarified, folding his arms against his chest. “You were never marriage, and also according to the investigation I made, they claimed the marriage ought to have been a punishment.”
Natalia bit down on her lips, the emperor wasn’t dumb, he seemed to be prepared himself. She balled her fist, shooting a glare in his direction again.
“I am in love with Josiah,” She blustered, her cheeks flushed from the lie, she had never seen Josiah as nothing more than the annoying boy who was always around her and picking on her. “I–I can’t get married to you, wh- when my heart belongs to a–another man.” She stuttered basically forcing the words out of her lips.
For some reason, Azmaveth found it cute.
“For someone who was said to have thrown a tantrum when her marriage was decided, you lie terribly.” He smirked, and Natalia hissed in frustration.
“Fine. I don’t like Josiah, and I hate you.” She confessed. “How could I possibly get married to a man who made my people slaves because he was offended by a statement?”
“I don’t wish to go back and forth on this matter with you, princess.” He suddenly snapped, making her jolt in surprise. “It has been decided, you have been placed in the harem and there is nothing you can do.”
“You won’t force me to marry you.” She continued with a small frown on her face, and the emperor shook his head.
“I hope it won’t end up like that.” He declared. “That is why I implore you to tell me about the courtship process and I will make it so.”
Natalia felt tears well in her eyes, the emperor wasn’t listening to her.
“I don’t want to get married.” Her voice turned pleading. “And even if I was going to get married, I would like to get married to Josiah. I know his intentions, he loves me, even more than his own life. But what about you? Why are you so fixated on getting married to me?”
He fumbled through his clothes, and then brought out a black ivory like piece, and Natalia’s eyes narrowed as she tried to make sense of what he was holding.

“This is the reason I want you,” He confessed in a sultry voice as he stepped closer to her. “This is a real dragon’s horn, it belongs to the last black dragon. I killed it myself and took the horn to show my superiority. I made a crown from it, and became the emperor of all dragon lairs. But you broke my horn, the only mortal or dragon to do that.”
Natalia scoffed a little surprised that was his reason, she remembered that crown of horn he was putting on during the duel, she thought it was made from clay, and didn’t know it belonged to a real dragon.
She had also heard tales of real dragons that terrorized the earth for thousands of years, and her father had also told her that they had gone extinct, because the last one was killed fifty years ago. A cruel, wicked dragon whose flames were fierce, and she didn’t hesitate to burn anything in its path.
Just like her father would tell them, dragons are sadistic creatures, and the dragon people are no different from dragons.
Was it sports that made him kill the last dragon, and use its beautiful horn for a crown? She didn’t understand, but there was no hero or villain in this scenario.
“And there is just something about you…” in an instant he was standing in front of her, Natalia blinked slightly, a little terrified. She took an impromptu step, and missed it. She lost her balance, and before she could fall, his arm encircled her waist, pushing her towards his chest.
Her lovely feminine scent wafted into his nose…
She smelled like lavender and cinnamon, and his eyes flashed, a hint of gold, Natalia’s mouth fell open as she was both captivated and terrified at the same time.
“There is just something about you that makes me lost control and keeps me in control at the same time.” His breath fanned across her face, as she found herself lost in his beauty as well. But the proximity allowed her to see just how big the emperor was compared to her, she felt like she was a child.
Her cheeks flushed red, as she tried to break from his embrace.
“I will give you seven days to make peace with whatever you need to make peace with, and if there is anything you would like to ransom for the marriage then you can tell me as well.” He whispered against her face, the emperor could hear her heartbeat, and the pummeling sounds, seemed to awaken something beastly in him.
Like the overwhelming urge to shove her into the rough beddings, and bury himself deep inside her, ramming his length into her until her small fingers were curled into the sheets, and they are damp with her arousal.
Just as if Natalia had sensed the danger, she remained quiet as she kept staring into his eyes, suddenly hoping he would keep his promise of not laying a hand on her until she was ready.
