Chapter 3
After a pause, Kenneth added, “Jasmine stayed with me all night, so I gave her that watch as a thank–you. I just forgot to mention it to you afterwards.”
He forgot? How convenient.
It wasn’t the only thing he “forgot” to tell me.
He also “forgot” that they had checked into a top–floor hotel suite that night and stayed there for three full days and nights.
I let out an inward cold laugh.
“She’s quite attentive. The day after you passed out, she even brought over the black shirt you were wearing that day–washed and ironed.”
Kenneth obviously paused for a second, and I could hear his breath catch.
Then he forced a light laugh, trying to play it off. “She’s that.

“Sandy, stop overthinking, alright? You’re my wife, the only one I love.”
His voice turned cloying, drenched in that fake–sweet tone again.
“Once things calm down at work, I’ll take you to the Maldives–just the two of us. We’ll finally have that vacation I owe you.”
His tenderness, which once would have melted me, now turned my
stomach.
“Sure.”

Chapter 3
My gaze drifted to the neon lights streaking past the window, and my voice came out eerily calm, as if commenting on the weather.
“But you should focus on your important matters first. I wouldn’t want to keep you.”
“Nothing is more important than being with you.”
His voice dripped with unmistakable flattery, but the coldness tightening around my heart only grew heavier.
It wasn’t just that Kenneth had cheated on me–what truly sickened me was the realization that they had been putting on a shameless performance right in my face for so long.
My grip tightened on the steering wheel, and I had to do my best to suppress the urge to confront Kenneth.
No. I would make him admit to the affair with Jasmine openly, and then I would make sure both of their reputations were ruined for good.
After brushing him off with a vague reply, I ended the call.
Just then, I saw another update on Jasmine’s social media.
In the video, she was dressed in an exquisitely designed wedding gown, glittering with diamonds, her face radiant with a triumphant smile.
“Another mistress came to me today, trying to take my place. To make it up to me, Mr. Harrison proposed!
“I said I wanted to hold our wedding in a castle, so he bought one for me.”
With a smug smirk, she panned the camera–seemingly casually–across several property deeds.
“And he actually wanted me to be in charge of this winery.

“Can I really handle it? I mean, I have zero experience. Fortunately, he promised he’d go with me to show everyone who is in charge. In such a way, no one will pick on me just because I’m young.“.
The sight of the property deeds bearing my name on them instantly sent fury blazing through me.
Alban had given me the winery as a gift for my coming–of–age ceremony
How dare Kenneth hand them over to his mistress to please her!
They wanted to show everyone who was in charge?
Sure. I was curious to know–how were they going to do that in front of me, the real owner of the winery?
