Chapter 30

KESTER

I pushed the door to the ladiesopen and peeped. Her scent filled my nostrils as I stepped inside, letting the door shut quietly behind me. My gaze fell on her instantly

She was standing there, gripping the edge of the porcelain sink as tight as her little hands could. Her head hung low, her shoulders rising and falling with the effort to catch her breath. Strands of her dark hair framed her face, sticking lightly to the sheen of sweat on her skin. She lookedfragile. Perfect. Mine

The fluorescent light above cast a faint glow over her figure, highlighting the curve of her hips and the way that damn dress clung to her body like a second skin. My jaw tightened involuntarily. That dress it wasn’t just a dress. It was a fucking provocation

She lifted her head slowly, probably sensing me before she saw me. Her eyes met mine in the mirror, and the moment they did, her body went rigid. Her breath hitched andibly, her lips parting as her wide, startled gaze locked onto mine

Alpha, she whispered, her voice trembling slightly

I didn’t move, not immediately. I wanted her to feel itmy presence, my dominance, the intensity of what I was here for. I wanted her to know there was no escape. Not from me. Not ever

She turned around hesitantly, her back pressing lightly against the sink as though she needed the extra support. Her nervous hands clutched the edge of it, her knuckles white, her chest rising and falling far too quickly for someone who wasn’t running

When did we start being so formal that you now call me Alpha without a reason?I asked, but she quickly looked

away

Only then did I catch sight of my eyes in the mirror behind her to see that my eyes were glowing red. My wolf, Zeth, was partly in control, and he always made her scared

Zeth was a ruthlessly vicious wolf who carried out intentions and duties without a second thought. He was one anyone should be scared of. But not Mine. I had tried to let her know this since I got Zeth, that he’d never hurt her, but I guess she’d never believe me

She always referred to me as Alpha when Zeth was in control. He had such a controlling and compelling aura that she always obeyed even without me issuing a command

I took a slow step forward, hands casually tucked into my pockets, my eyes tracing the lines of her body unapologetically. Kasmine”

Her breathing quickened even more, her eyes darting toward the door behind me. I was just ”

I silenced her with a pointed look, my lips curling into a smirk that held no warmth. You’ll have to stop wearing dresses like that,I said, my voice low and suggestive, loaded with dark intent. Tight, little things that hug your curves like they’re desperate to cling to you.My eyes dragged over her body once more, taking in the way the fabric stretched across her hips, the swell of her breasts, and the slender curve of her waist. Do you know what it does to me?”

Her lips parted, but no words came out. She was frozen in place, caught between fear and something else she couldn’t quite name. Something I could see burning in her eyes despite her attempts to mask it

I took another step forward, closing the gap between us, my gaze never leaving hers. I haven’t been able to concentrate all darnn day,I confessed, my voice dropping ven lower, rough with my effort at restraint. Not with you sitting out there, looking like that. Not with you.. hereI almost lost my mind when I turned and didn’t

see you in your seat”

Her back hit the sink as I moved closer, invading her space reached out slowly, my fingers brushing against her cheek with a gentleness that contradicted the storm raging inside me. Her skin was soft, warm, and she flinched slightly at the contact before relaxing into it, her resistance cracking

I tilted her chin up, forcing her to look at me. You’ve been in my head since last night, you know?My thumb brushed over her jawline as I leaned in, my lips barely a breath away from hers. And you’ll stay there, Kasmine. You’ll stay there until I decide otherwise.”

I kissed her then, softly at first, testing her. She tensed beneath my touch, her fingers gripping the sink behind her as though she wanted to pull away. But she didn’t. She couldn’t. The moment I deepened the kiss, she melted into it, her lips parting under mine as her resolve crumbled completely

She was almost standing on her tiptoe to reach my towering height. So perfect for me

I’ve dreamed of this. Of you. Of having you like this.I confessed as I felt the maddening sensation skitter up my brain

Her hands moved hesitantly, one of them clutching at the fabric of my shirt as though anchoring herself. Her breathing grew heavier, matching mine as the kiss became more consuming

My free hand rested on the cool porcelain of the sink beside her, caging her in without even needing to grab hold of her. She was mine, locked in this my surrender, whether she wanted to admit it or not

1 angled my head, sliding my tongue across the seam of her lips, teasing them open

Open up,I breathed the command. It was more like a demand

She resisted, a faint shiver rippling through her body, but it was weak. And then, like a dam breaking, she parted her lips for me

Her taste flooded my sensessweet, intoxicating, entirely berand I groaned low in my throat, the sound vibrating against her mouth as I claimed her fully

You taste like heaven. Like everything I’ve ever craved.I said against her lips, and she moaned in response

The kiss grew more urgent, more consuming. I poured everything into itmy frustration, my desire, my obsessionletting her feel the depth of my hunger for her My tongue swept against hers, coaxing and demanding, drawing her into the storm I refused to contain

She leaned into me just slightly, but it was enough. Her lips softened, no longer trembling, and she kissed me back with an eagerness that surprised even her

When she finally broke away, gasping for air, her eyes were glossy, her lips swollen. What do you want from me, Kester?she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. The vulnerability in her tone only fueled the possessiveness surging through me

I brushed a strand of hair away from her face, my thumb lingering against her cheek. I want you to be mine,I said simply. In every way that matters. I want you, Kasmine. All of you.”

She shook her head weakly, her gaze dropping to the floor. That’s not possible, she murmured, It can’t be. You know that. Society would never accept this. Mum. Dad, Everyone will see this as a taboo.”

I smirked, tilting her face back up so she was forced to meet my eyes. Fuck everyone. Everything is possible with me. You’ll learn that soon enough

Her lips quivered, and for a moment, she looked as though he might push me away. But then she surprised me. Her gaze hardened slightly, If I do what you wantif I give you whatever you ask for, you have to promise me

something.”

My brow arched, intrigued. What is it?”

Her next words were quiet, hesitant. Promise me you won’t hurt Jake.”

Jake. Again

The very mention of his name was enough to stir the dark, simmering rage inside me, but I kept my composure.

пусо didn’t want to ruin the moment

My smirk widened slightly, and I leaned in, letting my lips hover over her car. As long as you’re my good girl,I murmured, my voice dripping with menace and desire, Jake has nothing to fear.”

She shivered under my breath, her eyes fluttering closed as I pressed a soft kiss to the corner of her mouth. “Leave your door open tonight, Mine.I whispered against her lips, Just like last night.”

I felt her tense. But before she could respond, 1 captured her lips again, claiming her one last time before stepping back and leaving the room

Synopsis : My Stepbrother

Kasmine’s world shattered the night she witnessed her stepbrother, Kester Hamilton—the Alpha of the Crescent Moon Pack—murder an innocent man in cold blood. What began as a normal evening in the woods turned into a nightmare that would haunt her forever. The man Kester killed was no threat; he had only been talking to Kasmine. Yet Kester justified the murder by claiming the man tried to force himself on her.

Trembling and terrified, Kasmine confronted him, refusing to believe his twisted explanation. But Kester’s demeanor remained disturbingly calm. He didn’t show an ounce of remorse. Instead, he scolded her for being dramatic and tried to drag her back to the party, as if nothing had happened. When she resisted, he unleashed his Alpha command—a power no wolf could defy. Under his control, Kasmine’s will crumbled, and she obeyed him like a puppet.

As she returned to the party—ironically, Kester’s girlfriend’s birthday celebration—Kasmine’s heart broke. The brother who once protected her now scared her more than anyone else.

Her mind drifted back to her childhood, to the days when Kester had been her hero. After her father’s death, her mother remarried Alpha Kade Hamilton, Kester’s father. At the time, Kester was fourteen and Kasmine was only seven. He took her under his wing, treating her like a precious little sister. He brought her gifts, defended her from bullies, and made her feel safe. To everyone around them, Kester was the perfect big brother.

But as Kasmine grew older, that “protectiveness” became something else—something dark and possessive. By the time she turned sixteen, Kester had started isolating her from others. He didn’t allow her to have male friends, and even her time with female friends was limited. He wanted her attention, her trust, and her presence—all to himself. It became suffocating.

Now, at twenty years old, Kasmine had no boyfriend and barely any social life. Every time she tried to rebel, Kester reminded her that she should wait for her fated mate when she turned twenty-one and got her wolf. Her parents saw his control as love and protection, never suspecting how toxic and obsessive it had become.

After witnessing the murder, Kasmine was emotionally destroyed. She couldn’t eat, sleep, or think straight. The image of the lifeless man haunted her. Luckily, she only had to see Kester on weekends, since he was busy running both his pack and his billion-dollar company—Zamford Technologies. But even from a distance, his control continued. He had bugged her phone and laptop, monitoring every message and call. There was no escaping his watchful eyes.

Trying to focus on her studies, Kasmine pushed herself to attend her final year of college. She was preparing for her internship, and for once, she felt hopeful. She had submitted three company choices, deliberately avoiding Zamford Technologies to stay away from Kester. Her best friend, Jake—a guy she secretly liked—had applied to the same companies. She dreamed of being placed in the same one as him. Maybe then, away from Kester’s shadow, she could experience normal life, maybe even love.

That morning, she rushed to campus, still hopeful about the internship results. At the school entrance, she met her best friend, Claire, who looked visibly upset. Claire confessed she had been posted to J&F Technologies. Her disappointment wasn’t about the company—it was about Kester. Claire had nursed a crush on him for years and had listed Zamford Technologies in hopes of working near him. But her wish had failed, and she’d lost her chance.

Trying to comfort her, Kasmine asked about her own posting. Strangely, Claire didn’t answer, avoiding her eyes. Confused but impatient, Kasmine dragged her to the information board. Her heart raced as she scanned the list, looking first for Jake’s name. He was placed at Plush Technologies—one of the options they’d chosen together.

Excited, she searched for her name next, praying to see it under the same company. But her excitement quickly turned to dread. Her hands trembled. Her breath caught in her throat. There, beside her name, was written: Zamford Technologies.

The world seemed to tilt around her.

It couldn’t be real. There had to be some mistake. How could she, of all people, end up at her stepbrother’s company—the very place she’d tried hardest to avoid? Panic rose in her chest as the realization sank in. Kester must have done this. Somehow, he had found a way to manipulate her placement, ensuring that even in her professional life, she couldn’t escape his grasp.

Her mind flashed back to his piercing green eyes, his dominating voice, the way he’d ordered her around after committing murder without remorse. Now, he would have full control over her again—for hours every day. There would be no hiding, no breathing space.

As she stood frozen before the board, Kasmine felt her fragile hope for freedom crumble. She had spent years yearning for the day she could make her own choices—turn twenty-one, find her fated mate, and escape Kester’s suffocating hold. But now, destiny—or rather, Kester’s manipulation—had pulled her right back into his world.

And deep down, she feared that this time, she might not make it out alive.
