Chapter 360
KESTER.
The room was dim and too damn quiet for how loud everything inside me was screaming.
I sat slouched on the edge of the couch in the center of my pack house, elbows on my knees, head down, a full bottle of whiskey in one hand and my phone in the other. I didn’t even remember what time it was. Morning? Night? I didn’t care.
The carpet under my boots was soaked from earlier when the first bottle slipped out of my hand and shattered.
Norlan was upstairs. The doctor said he needed rest, but I knew he wasn’t sleeping. How could he when I hadn’t closed my eyes in two fucking days?
Norlan had decided to come with me to the pack house. He said I needed to be looked after. As if I was a baby. Or as if he
could stop the killing spree that was already taking root in my head.
–
Why not? When the only person who was my balance, my sanity, and my blood was still nowhere to be found until now? I don’t give a fuck what the world thinks about mates, but that woman – my woman was the only thing keeping me from becoming something the gods couldn’t fix. But now, even the gods won’t be able to fix the damage that was about to befall
Kex, Wes, and Nagel.
I could feel myself unraveling.
My hair was a mess. My shirt was wrinkled and stuck to me with sweat. I hadn’t showered or eaten. I didn’t want to. I
couldn’t taste anything but metal and fury. My wolf was pacing inside me like a caged beast, ready to tear out of my skin.
I dialed the number again.
The same number I’d called thirteen times in the last hour.
It rang and rang without a response. But finally, someone deemed it fit to answer.
“Hello?” a clipped voice answered.
I shot up from the couch, the whiskey bottle nearly slipping out of my hand. “What the fuck took you so long to pick up?”
There was silence on the other end for a beat too long.
Then, the voice returned, ‘We’ve assessed the situation, Alpha Kester. Nagel Vale operates under a level of stealth and protection we currently do not have the capacity to…”
Every joint in my body cracked from how fense I was.
“You fucking coward!” I roared, pacing across the room, rage spiking through my blood like fire. “You’re telling me that, your overpaid dicks–with–badges don’t have what it takes to capture one man? One piece of shit who’s out there torturing my Luna as we speak?!”
The idiot tried to backtrack. “Alpha, you have to understand… he’s off–grid, heavily protected, and…”
“You scared of Nagel?” I asked, yoice dropping to something colder. “You should be. But not more than you should be scared of me. Because as soon as this is all over, your agency will go extinct. I promise you that.”

Chapter 360
I hung up before 1 ripped the phone in two.
The whiskey bottle slipped from my hand. The amber liquid spilled like blood across the floor, seeping into the broken screen of my phone.
I dropped to my knees in it.
My hands shook as I gripped my hair, tugging hard. My forehead pressed against the floor, and I finally let out a guttural scream that tore straight from my chest.
This was the ninth agency I’ve had to call to look for Kasmine, but they were all weak dicks who were totally scared of the name Nagel. What the fuck?
And me, with all my own resources, I wasn’t doing to Kasmine right now.
able to
do much. I was going crazy imagining all the things Nagel could be
Fuck.
Norlan, who just got discharged from the hospital last night, couldn’t do much either. Besides, he wasn’t good at “tracking” people. He was a master at digging out the most buried secret of anybody on this planet.
“Kester…” Norlan’s voice drifted faintly from the top of the stairs.
