Chapter 370
PRESENT.
KASMINE.
Whoever this Alpha Saint was, he had to be someone… serious? Influential? Terrifying? I didn’t know. But one thing was clear… Nagel didn’t like hearing his name. At all.
Because, how the hell was Nagel a bit panicked about Alpha Saint’s involvement in whatever?
Alpha Kex, who had just been laughing like a lunatic, immediately stood up, cursing under his breath. His face had drained of all that sick amusement, and now he looked like a dog who had just heard a bigger one growl in the distance. He dressed back up quickly, muttering to Nagel about how “that motherfucker better not get in my business” as they both stormed out of the room.
I exhaled in relief the moment the door slammed shut.
God… thank Selene.
My shaking hands reached to adjust the torn neckline of the gown and pull it over my chest. I wiped my face roughly, trying to stop the tears that had been falling nonstop. It was pointless. I couldn’t stop crying. I couldn’t stop shaking. My body didn’t feel like mine anymore. It felt tainted. Like their hands and words and filth had permanently settled into my skin.
I could barely breathe.
This place was going to destroy me.
If Kester didn’t find me soon, there wouldn’t be anything left of me to save.
“I’m sorry,” I whispered to no one. “I’m so sorry…”
I buried my face in my hands.
A sob choked me.
“Please, Kester…” I croaked, my throat raw from crying. “Save me. I swear, I’ll never doubt you again. I’ll never disobey you again. Just… just come get me. Please…” I sobbed so hard it hurts.
I knew this was all my fault. I was living proof of what happened to people who made stupid choices. But I had already paid enough for it. Being in this place with these monsters was already enough payment.
I wish I could turn back the hands of time.
I wish a lot of things right now. But above all, I wish Kester would save me before these monsters do worse that making me suck their cocks and almost raping me.
Kester was the only one who ever saw the danger before it knocked. And I treated him like he was the danger.
Stupid. So fucking stupid.
In less than five minutes, just when I thought they were both leaving or something, the door flung open again and Nagel and Kex walked in again, grinning like a devil who’d just gotten a better deal with hell.
They both walked in like they’d come to announce something wonderful.
I knew that look. That fake calm in Nagel’s eyes. That grin on Kex’s lips.
They had made a decision I wasn’t going to like.
“Well, well, well,” Kex drawled, clapping his hands like he was hosting a game show. “Turns out my boat’s been delayed. Lucky me, huh?
He looked too pleased.
Nagel stood to the side, arms folded like he was just here to watch.
My heart thudded hard in my chest. I blinked rapidly, trying to make sense of what Kex had just said.
Boat?
My eyes darted between the two of them, panic making its way up my throat.
“Wait… we’re on water?”
Kex crouched in front of me, flashing those perfect white teeth again like he was trying to be charming. “Oh, baby, yes,” he cooed mockingly. “A little too far out for that mate of yours to sniff you out and magically appear before we move you to another ship,” He announced like it’s information I should be grateful about.
No.
No…
How on earth would Kester find me? Would he ever be able to even guess we’re not on land? Oh, God. I was doomed.
“And, did Nagel tell you the good news?” Kex asked and crouched to my level with a wide smile on his face, “You’ve been given a free ticket to Asia!” He laughed so hard like he had just cracked one of the funniest jokes humanity had ever heard.
“What do you mean?” My voice was so weak and almost inaudible. I wish I hadn’t heard correctly.
No. He must be joking.
“Exactly what it sounds like,” he said. “New owners. New country. New life.”
Tears stung my eyes again.
God, no.
They were going to sell me.
“But before we do..” Nagel unfolded his arms slowly, his lips curling into something that wasn’t quite a smile. “We’ve decided to sample our most valuable commodity. Just to… assure our buyers of its quality. Buyers appreciate proof of satisfaction, you know.”
My stomach turned to ice. I swear I didn’t like the sound of that.
I scrambled backward, but Kex’s hand shot out and held me still. “Ah–ah,” he tutted, dragging me closer. “You don’t get to run.”
“Please… Please. Don’t…” My voice trembled, and instead of pity and understanding, Kex smiled.
“Kester looses his damn mind over this pretty little cunt. You really think I’d let a chance like this pass me by?” He laughed like the maniac he
- is. “I’d be damned not to fuck that pussy that makes Kester think he can kill the whole world just to protect.”
He wrenched me forward, his other hand fisting in my hair. “Nagel, start the fucking video. Let’s give Kester a front row seat.”
