The servant quickly calmed her down. It took Lillian a long time to catch her breath. “I give you the money… now get out!”
“If I don’t get the money tonight, I’ll be back tomorrow morning,” Valerie said smugly as she swayed her hips and walked out.
The servant spat toward the door. “What a piece of trash I don’t even know why she is favored. Audrey is so much better! Every time she comes home, she helps with the cooking and even gives you massages.”
“What benefactor? She’s nothing but an ungrateful wretch! She stole someone’s husband and now she’s here to steal money. Why doesn’t she just drop dead?” The servant was cursing viciously.
Lilian closed her eyes, tears streaming down her face. The stark contrast between Valerie and Audrey hit her hard. She deeply regretted her past
decisions.
