Carson was detained by the elderly man and his family and ultimately failed to take it to the hospital in time for the surgery. The patient had been in critical condition and didn’t survive the operation.
Although the patient’s death wasn’t directly Carson’s fault, his failure to participate in the surgery meant he bore undeniable responsibility.
Carson held his profession in high regard and thus felt extremely guilty. He accepted the hospital’s punishment without hesitation.

Calvin had been accompanying Yann to social events. Yann no longer needed to hide his identity. He certainly wouldn’t continue living here.
“Does that bother you?” A deep, soft voice sounded behind Audrey. Her fingers trembled slightly, and the key slipped from her hand, falling to the floor.
The sound wasn’t loud, but it was just enough to rekindle the corridor light that had just gone out

Yann’s intimidating aura was subdued, but there was still a kind of pressure that made Audrey hesitant to look him in the eye.

“Aren’t you going to invite me in for a cup of coffee?” he asked.
Audrey stepped inside and moved aside, waiting for Yann to enter before closing the door.
Her apartment was small, a cozy two–bedroom layout that was quite convenient for living, However, Yann’s tall stature made the space seem cramped.

“Sure,” Yann replied. He took a few steps and found himself at the bedroom door. The bedding was in her favorite pastel color scheme, soft and inviting.
Audrey emerged with the lemonade to see hins standing at the bedroom door. “When are you leaving?” she asked.
Yann glanced at her, his deep eyes inscrutable
Audrey, noticing he didn’t take the glass, rephrased her question, “Yann, when are you going back?”
Yann took the glass, sipped from it, and then turned to sit in the living room, Instead of answering, he asked, “Are you divorced?”
Audrey nodded. “I guess my taste was off bedane”
She had thought Clayton was a responsible man. After marriage, even if he didn’t deeply love her, he would at least respect her. She hadn’t expected him
to be so blind over his childhood sweetheart.
“Better late than never,” Yann said with a teasing tone, holding the glass and staring at her. “What are your plans?
“I’ll work hard and earn money,” Audrey replied crisply.
Yann said nothing. His elegant fingers tapped the glass slowly.
Audrey glanced at his hand and quickly lowered her eyes. It’s so unfair that God gave Yann a genius mind, a good–looking face, and even his hands are so beautiful, she thought

Audrey had initially been attracted to men’s voices, then their hands, and eventually realized she was just a sucker for good looks.

Audrey hadn’t turned on the air conditioning yet, but she shivered. She lowered her head even more, her thumbs twisting together before she suddenly clasped her hands tightly

When she had liked Clayton, she had been willing to give him and his family a chance. Now that everything had fallen apart, she was determined to stand up for herself
“Better make sure you mean it,” Vann said, taking a sip of lemonade and standing up.
A shadow instantly enveloped Audrey, and she instinctively took a step back, her heel hitting the edge of the bean bag sofa and causing her to lose her balance and fall backward,
With a swift movement. Yann extended his long arm, caught her around the waist, and steadied her before releasing her. His actions were fluid and efficient, without any hesitation.
Yann opened the door and stepped out, “Pack your things and come with me.”
By the time Audrey had gathered her wits, Yainn had already emerged from next door and was standing at the entrance, waiting for her.
“I’m really fine living here,” she insisted
Yann remained stert, simply staring at her intently. Audrey felt the pressure mounting and reluctantly grabbed her backpack, following him out.
Calvin trailed behind the two, and once they were out of the elevator, he jogged ahead to bring the car around.
Audrey and Yann sat side by side in the backseat of the car, the journey marked by silence.
Over half an hour later, the Land Rover pulled into an upscale villa complex in Royal House, stopping in front of number 16.
Audrey hesitated, reluctant to get out of the car, and Yann opened the door for her.
This neighborhood was luxurious, but it was too far from Stride Commerce. A taxi ride would take at least an hour, and it wasn’t an easy place to hail cab
“There are cars in the garage. If you don’t like them, have Calvin buy you a new one,” Yann said, seemingly reading Audrey’s mind.
Audrey gave an awkward smile. “I’m not picky. Any car will do.” She would regret saying that the next day.
They walked along a cobblestone path to the villa entrance, where Yann entered a code to open the door.
Audrey wanted to ask when he would leave, so she could move back in. Her place, though small, was in the city center with convenient nearby facilities
“If Yann has a property here, does that mean he’s not leaving anytime soon? Audrey thought to herself.
“Yann, is this house yours?” Audrey asked delicately.

“There’s a project I need to overre here, so I be staying temporarily. You know Ironhaven well; pet in touch with two servants. Also, if you think we need anything, make a list for Calvin. He’ll cover the expenses,” Yann said,
Audrey thought, I’m not the owner of the house; it wouldn’t be right to just go around buying things. But I can certainly prepare the necessary daily
items and food
They ascended the stairs one after the other, and Yann pointed to the room at the end of the hall. “You’ll stay in there“.
Okay” Audrey nodded. Her room was spacious, featuring a large floor–to–ceiling window that she absolutely loved
While there was no view of the river or the sea, the sight of the lush green lawn outside the window gave her a sense of spaciousness and comfort.
Given the generous spacing and well–maintained landscaping, this villa had to be worth at least several million dollars.
The fact that Yann was staying in such a place meant they were discussing a significant project.
To Audrey’s surprise, the wardrobe was not only stocked with women’s regular clothing but also included a set of sensual pajamas.
