A flicker of mockery crossed Malcolm’s eyes, which Clayton caught. His pupils suddenly narrowed. “Malcolm, you knew all along, didn’t you? You knew Audrey had a lover. Did she marry me in a hurry to hide something?”
“Mr. Patel, please watch your words. If you do that again, I will pursue defamation charges against you.” Malcolm said

Malcolm indifferently handed over a piece of paper with the calculated compensation amount. “Mr. Patel, how do you plan to make the payment?”
Clayton clenched his fist and slammed it onto the hood of the car. The remnants of his vomit splattered onto him, making him feet even more nauseous.

Since he couldn’t touch the high–end Land Rover, he had to sacrifice Jade’s car. He scraped one side of the car against the pillar as he drove out, leaving an even deeper mark.
Jade drove Clayton’s car to the law firm, while Clayton took Jade’s car to the repair shop. After arriving at the repair shop, he wearily sat in a chair.
“I’m sorry, Clayton, I–Valérie began.
“Enough,” Clayton said imitably, pinching the bridge of his nose. He could already guess what she was about to say–she had caused trouble again.
