Chapter 25
The pain was unbearable. It was a sharp, burning pain through her lower belly like she was being stabbed endlessly with burning knives.
Anastacia blinked slowly, her vision blurred as the bright lights of the clinic pierced her eyes. All her body hurt, and any slight movement caused pain to surge through her.
However, the pain was nothing compared to the rage burning in her chest.
Ana had lost the baby, and the worst part was that the healers told her that she would never be able to carry another one again. Her fragile womb had ruptured, and there was no healing that could be done that would be enough to repair that kind of damage.
Her womb was gone.
She clenched her fists weakly. She could barely move, but her mind was awake, and it was burning with anger. She wasn’t supposed to end up like this. She was supposed to
win.
The door creaked open, and she turned her head slowly.
A nurse walked in, checked her chart, adjusted the drip, and left without saying a word
to her.
All Anastacia could think about was Silas.
He had done this to her. That traitor. That spineless coward. He was blaming her for his stupidity. He was the one to blame for everything
Ana stared at the ceiling and repeated one thing in her mind: This was Willow’s fault. She was the reason Silas had flipped like that.
Ana had overheard the healers gossiping about Willow. She was now married to another Alpha, living her best life.
Ana was very jealous. She had lost everything. Silas, John, her baby, and her womb, after everything she had worked for.
But Willow now had everything.
She had caught a glimpse of a wedding photo as the healers gossiped. It was a full page photo of Willow in white, smiling beside Alastair.
Ana felt sick. That should have been her. Not Willow.
She turned her head slowly and glared at the window. “This isn’t over,” she whispered hoarsely. “You think you’ve won, Willow. But I’m not done.”
Ana spent the next few days recovering. Her body healed slower than she expected, but eventually, she was able to walk, talk, think clearly and plan.
She had no allies left. Silas was gone, he was probably dead. John was dead. The pack members hated her, especially when they found out that she had been sleeping with the Alpha and the Beta, causing the death of their beta, and ruining the life of their beloved Alpha.
So she had no ally from the pack, but that wasn’t going to stop her.
She still had one card to play.
Ana smirked bitterly. Willow was always weak, and always soft. Willow might hate her now, but she wouldn’t be able to ignore a bleeding woman at her door.
It had been so pitiful that Silas had even believed that Willow could hurt Ana. It was a well known fact that Willow had always been too kind for her own good.
That kindness would be her downfall.
By the end of the week, Ana left the clinic. She was very weak and frail. The nurse offered to get her a wheelchair, but she refused.
She didn’t need their pity, what she wanted was revenge.
She didn’t clean herself up, and she didn’t dress fancy, because it wasn’t necessary. She was playing a different game this time.
She arrived at the Blood Moon Pack border a day later. She had walked the whole way, because she wanted to look pitiful.
She waited by the gates until the patrol guards spotted her. When they saw her, their eyes widened, and they quickly became alert.
“I’m not here to cause trouble,” Ana said quickly, lifting both hands. “Please. I just need help. I-I was attacked.”
The warriors exchanged wary glances.
One of them frowned. “What are you doing here?”
“I came to see Willow,” she said, softening her voice, making sure it shook. “Please. I don’t have anywhere else to go.”
different warrior narrowed his eyes. “Does Luna Willow know you?”
She nodded. “Yes, she does. Just tell her that I’m outside, and I need her help. If she says no, I’ll leave. I swear.”
They hesitated.
Ana lowered her gaze and mumbled softly. “I just lost my baby, and I have nowhere else to go.”
That was all it took.
Within fifteen minutes, one of the warriors returned and motioned her forward. “She
agreed to see you.”
Ana hid a smile.
Of course she did. Willow wouldn’t turn her away, even after everything that happened.
