Chapter 29
Ana leaned forward slightly in anticipation. This was it.
Willow’s eyes met hers, and an unreadable expression crossed her eyes.
Then slowly, Willow turned her hand and poured the water into the grass slowly.
Ana blinked.
Willow never looked away. Her eyes stayed locked on Ana’s, with a small smile playing on her lips.
The smile made the hair on Ana’s neck stand, and her stomach twisted. Willow knew.
She set the empty glass down, folded her hands in her lap, and said nothing, even as she maintained eye contact with Ana.
Ana swallowed slowly, her throat was suddenly dry.
And that was when Ana realized something.
She had underestimated Willow, and she had just made a very, very big mistake.
Ana opened her mouth, then she closed it. Her mind raced with several thoughts.
“You know…” Willow’s voice was soft but sharp. “You should have picked a different tactic.”
Ana didn’t respond.
Willow tilted her head slightly, her eyes were hard. “How stupid do you think I am, Ana?”
Ana straightened in her chair as cold sweat ran down her back. “I-I don’t know what you’re talking about-”
Willow’s smile widened. “Don’t act stupid now, Ana. The game is over..”
There was no softness on her face anymore. She looked calm, but her eyes were like ice.
“I let you into my pack,” Willow continued. “That doesn’t mean that I trusted you, or that I forgave you, or even cared about you.”
Ana’s face paled, and her heart skipped a beat.
“I did it because I was curious,” Willow went on, her tone cool. “I wanted to know what you were planning. Because I knew you didn’t come here because you needed my help. You are too proud for that, unless you were scheming.”
Ana’s heart pounded in her chest.

Willow leaned forward slightly. “Do you think that you’re a good actress? I saw your glares, and your fake tears. I saw the way your jaw clenched every time you saw me smile or laugh.”
“I-” Ana started again.
“You’re not good at hiding it,” Willow interrupted flatly. “I know you very well, Ana. I saw everything, Ana. I was just waiting for you to play your game.”
Ana’s fists clenched on her lap.
Willow gave a small humorless laugh. “Did you really think I wouldn’t notice you adding something to my water, just because my back was turned?”
Ana’s lips parted in shock.
“You made it too obvious,” Willow added. “Even if I hadn’t seen you… your eyes gave you away. You couldn’t stop looking at the glass. It was pathetic, really.”
Ana’s breath caught, and she clenched her jaw.
“Here’s the thing,” Willow said, leaning back now, her smile gone. “You don’t belong here. And Alastair was right. I shouldn’t have let you in.”
Ana’s chest tightened.
Willow stared at her. “But now you’ve given me a reason to throw you out myself.”
Ana’s mind raced. She had no allies here. The pack members and warriors already hated her. Alastair would probably chain her in the dungeon and throw away the key if
he found out about this.
She had no one left, and she also had nothing to lose.
At that moment, she snapped.
With a loud snarl, Ana lunged across the table.
Willow reacted instantly, kicking her chair backward and stepping to the side. Ana crashed into the table, knocking everything to the ground.
“You bitch!” Ana screamed, rushing at her.
Willow didn’t flinch. She ducked Ana’s attack and grabbed her arm, twisting it backward and slamming her against the wall.
Ana grunted, she was actually shocked by Willow’s strength.
She struggled violently. “I’ll kill you!”
Willow let her go, and Ana stumbled forward. She turned quickly to attack again, but before she could get close, two warriors were already rushing through the garden gate.
“Luna!”
Ana turned toward them, trying to retreat, but she was grabbed instantly. The warriors yanked her arms back and shoved her to her knees.
“Take her to the holding cell,” Willow ordered, her voice calm and firm.
“No! You can’t do this! I just made a mistake! I wasn’t thinking straight!” Ana screamed, struggling as the warriors tightened their hold on her.
Willow crouched in front of her with a small smile.
“I gave you a chance,” she said quietly. “I allowed you to walk freely in my pack, even after everything, but you used that to try and poison me.”
Ana gritted her teeth as tears welled up in her eyes. “You don’t deserve this life, Willow! You didn’t even fight for it! Everything you have, should have been mine!”
Willow stood to her feet and looked down at her. “Get her out of my sight.” She said coldly.
Ana kept screaming, kicking and cursing as the warriors dragged her away. Willow stood there silently, watching them until the garden was quiet again.
She exhaled slowly, then she grinned in amusement. “Well, that was fun.”
