I knew Silvy thought I was acting odd all day. I was. I suck at hiding things from her. Even good things. But she figured it out real quick and forgave me. I think feeding her helped. After Xavier left to go with Erin to play with the other kids Pocket came over to us. “I know this is your baby shower but I was wondering if you would you mind if I gave Xavier a gift?” she asked Silvy. “Pocket, what are you up to?” Pocket explained that when she first met Xavier he said he wanted to join the hockey team at her rink but Gena couldn’t afford it. So Pocket got everything ready to get Xavier a scholarship so he could join the team. Silvy smiled “They are going to love it. Yes, do it.”
Silvy called Gena, Tony and Xavier over to her. Once they were with us “Guys Sabine has something for you.” “But it is your shower,” Tony said. “I know but Sabine asked permission and I gave it,” Silvy said. Then Pocket proceed to explain what she heard and what she did. “All you have to do is show up for the practices. They start in three weeks to get ready for the next season.” “This is very generous of you Sabine, but Xavier doesn’t know how to ice skate,” Gena said. “No worries. We will teach him.” Pocket told them. Xavier charged Pocket’s legs wrapping his little arms around them.

Pocket gently removes Xavier’s arms and swats down to his level. “This is what family does. You don’t need to thank me,” she said to him. Xavier looks confused. “We are family he?” asks. “ You are Silvy’s brother, right?” Pocket asks. Xavier nods. “Well, Silvy is like a sister to us. Well, except Goof.” Pocket says. She leans into Xavier and stage whispers “He likes Silvy like a boyfriend.” Xavier giggles at that making Silvy laugh. “So since Silvy is family that makes you family too.” Pocket told him. “Yea, more family,” Xavier yelled making everyone laugh. His reaction reminded me of when Jace and Jax first came here and found out they had a bunch of uncles.
Tony and Gena hugged and thanked Pocket but she just brushed it off like no big deal. For her it wasn’t. After that, they started with the activities they had planned. There was onesie decorating that I even took part in. It was actually fun. The girls played a few games that I had no interest in so I joined my brothers in the backyard for a beer and watched the kids play. I was sitting on one of the porch chairs watching the kids run around the back yard shooting Nerf guns at each other or going up the stairs for the slide that was attached to the playhouse. Xavier was pushing Erin on the swings. I took a couple of pictures because it was too cute. Silvy was going to love it.
I feel someone sit next to me but don’t look over keeping my eyes on the kids. “Something you want to show me, son?” Tony asked from beside me. I turn my head towards him and see him laid back in the chair taking a pull of his beer. “What are you talking about?” I asked. Tony laughs “Goof, let me tell you a secret. Xavier can’t keep a secret. He told me and Gena about the store you took him to and asked for his help.” Now I know what he was asking about I start laughing. “Good to know.
