‘Seriously, we barely even know each other!‘ Vivian grumbled inwardly.
Vivian thought resentfully as she slung her bag, over her shoulder and left the villa. Before she walked out, she reminded Lisa to take good care of Jessica while they were away, completely ignoring Sebastian as if he were invisible.
Lisa shrugged helplessly at Sebastian and said in Vastelian, “Mom’s fiercely protective of her own.”
What she really meant was for Sebastian to put up with Vivian for the moment.
Maxine pretended not to notice their exchange.
Maxine wiped her mouth with a napkin after finishing her meal, then looked up and asked, “When are you heading to the office?”
Hearing this, Sebastian asked hopefully, “Wanna ride with me? Where are you headed? I can give you a lift.”
“No, thanks,” Maxine replied, “I was just wondering when you’ll be heading back. Lisa and Jessica might be going out later today.”
Lisa nodded earnestly. “Yeah, I’m going to the museum with Jessica today.”
Bringing her snacks was one thing, but it absolutely must not interfere with her travel plans in Hatholand.
Sebastian nodded slightly. “Don’t worry. I’ll leave once I’m done here.”
His expression remained composed, perfectly masking his inner disappointment
Maxine grabbed her things and was about to leave. Just as she reached the door, she spotted Scott bringing Jessica back.
Seeing her, Scott nodded in greeting. Jessica excitedly tugged at Maxine’s sleeve and exclaimed, “Maxine, Scott is amazing! He’s super strong, like, really strong! He can lift both me and Brian together with just one hand!”
As she said this, Jessica struck a pose for Maxine. “Just like this!”
Scott scratched his nose awkwardly and said sheepishly, “We set off a bit late today. I was afraid Brian would be late, so that’s why…”
Maxine smiled at him and said, “No problem at all. Thanks for looking after the kids. I have other matters to attend to, so I’ll take my leave now.”
Watching her retreating figure, Scott nervously placed a hand on his chest. ‘So this is the legendary Ms. Hudson!‘ he thought. He remembered Charles mentioning before he started working here that Sebastian once had a wife who left due to personal reasons, and since then, there had never been anyone else in his life.
He marveled inwardly, ‘I never imagined I’d actually get to see her with my own eyes today.
‘No wonder she’s Mr. Mason’s woman, her presence alone outshines most people.’
As Scott led Jessica through the front door, Lisa immediately sprang up from the couch and hurried over. “All set for today? Ready to hit the museum?”
Jessica nodded, then turned to Sebastian, who was standing by the dining table in his suit. She called out sweetly, “Take care, Sebastian!”
Sebastian smiled at her and said, “Have fun out there and stay safe. I’ll have Scott accompany you for protection.”
Scott stepped forward, and the moment his eyes landed on Lisa, he froze. He’d never seen a girl so breathtakingly beautiful in his life.
She looked like a princess straight out of a fairy tale, flawless from her delicate bone structure to her perfect figure. Scott gulped involuntarily, unable to tear his eyes away from Lisa.
Noticing his gaze, Lisa’s eyes narrowed slightly.
