Bradley entered the office, his gaze settling on Urban seated across from him. “Mr. Soto.”
Urban looked up at him, still wearing that gentle and refined expression. “Is there something you’d like to tell me?”
“Mr. Soto, I have no idea what you’re talking about,” Bradley said, stiffening his neck defiantly.
Urban’s eyes darkened. Bradley was a veteran in the group, after all. His hands–off father, who never got involved, had actually called to plead for him after hearing about it.
Thinking of this, Urban let out a mocking laugh. ‘So well–informed about everything going on in the company, yet when Bradley was scheming against me with others, not a single warning ever came my way,‘ he thought sarcastically.
Maxine and Vivian stood by, watching Bradley put up a desperate fight. Urban almost let out a cold laugh at his antics. After asking a second time and getting nothing but Wang playing dumb, he finally lost all patience. Rising from his seat, he said, “Since Bradley refuses to talk, let’s settle this in the
conference room.”
Bradley’s face paled. “What?”
No one paid him any attention. Instead, Vivian, who had been watching the drama unfold from the sidelines, kindly chimed in, “Hey, we’ve still got a meeting coming up to sort out the mess you made. Did you even sign a contract with them? If you did, you’d better call your lawyer now.”
Bradley’s face darkened. Instinctively, he reached out to grab Urban as he turned to leave, but he smoothly sidestepped him.
Urban turned his head slightly toward Bradley and said curtly, “You didn’t want to talk earlier, so
don’t bother now. Let’s go to the conference room.”
Urban turned to Maxine and Vivian beside him and said, “I appreciate your help today. Let’s go together. I’ll need you both as witnesses later.”
Maxine nodded in tacit agreement.
The
group made their way to the conference room. With Bradley trailing reluctantly at the back, there was no escaping what was coming. Urban pushed open the door, stepped inside, and nodded to the board members waiting inside. He greeted them, “Thank you all for waiting.”
One of the shareholders was the first to lose patience and blurted out, “Mr. Soto, what the hell is going on here? You summoned us all here but haven’t said a word. Our time is valuable, you know.”

Dawn distributed the documents. Urban cut straight to the chase. “I’ve already conducted a prior investigation. Peak Technology is indeed a shell company. As for its connection with Nature Tech, their legal representative is present. Anyone with questions or objections may direct them to him.”
With that, Urban paused briefly before continuing, “As for the contract Bradley mentioned…”
Dawn produced a contract from her briefcase and handed it to Maxine beside her.

Urban glanced at them and continued, “After I returned, I found that most of the legal department had been reassigned, and very few people had actually handled this contract. That’s why I specifically
asked Ms. Hudson to review it.”
Maxine examined the contract in her hands. Though meticulously drafted, its flaws were apparent, including incorrect tax rates, vague itemized details. Should any issues arise, Alpite Group would bear
nearly all the liability.
Maxine held up the contract and addressed the room, “This contract certainly has problems. If the project goes south, Alpite Group will be on the hook for most of the liability. I have no idea who reviewed this contract, but I suggest they come forward and explain to Mr. Soto face–to–face exactly
why it was approved.”
Urban said with icy calm, “Dawn, check the approval records and summon the person responsible.”
Dawn gave a curt nod, turned on her heel, and exited the conference room.
Bradley glared at Urban through gritted teeth. Stepping closer, he whispered menacingly, “Urban, don’t push your luck.”
