CHAPTER 11

I go upstairs and the twins follow me without saying anything to my parents, but I could see the way Gage and Arlo were looking at them. Honestly, they looked like they wanted to kick their asses. Which made me even more scared

But once we got to my room I closed the door and I turned the TV on to drown out some of the

conversation

My room still wasn’t completely clean so I started doing that while the guys were helping me

I thought you were just going to drop me off.I said

Yeah. We were planning on just dropping you off. But then we thought that we didn’t have

anything else to do today so we wanted to stay.Arlo explained

And do what?I asked

Have a movie day. One like we used to have.He said

Oh. One of those.” I said

Yeah. One of those. Except this one will be at your house.”

Is there some reason why you two seem to be extra clingy to me right now? If this has anything to do with last night, I told you not to worry about that. I was just being stupid.” I said

We told you why. Now let’s get this room cleaned up so we can start our movie night.Gage said

So we finished cleaning the room and we laid down on the bed, luckily it was a large bed, to watch

movies for the rest of the day

It was actually a really nice relaxing day and I didn’t remember the last time I spent a day like this at my house

I mean, whenever I’m here I feel like I’m always walking on eggshells. Especially if they are here as well. If my family isn’t here then I feel like I am still walking on eggshells because I never know when they are going to be home

We stayed in my room the whole day, watching movie after movie and I was wondering how long the twins were going to be hanging around for

But we also heard people walking past my bedroom. It was always one person at a time and they would stop out the front of my room, obviously trying to listen in to what was happening in my

room

O CHAPT

By the sound of the footsteps I could tell who was the one standing outside

If it was my parents the twins would ignore it but when I told them it was Spencer, Arlo got up and opened the door catching Spencer with his head up against the door trying to listen in

Is there something we can do for you?Arlo asked as Spencer looked in at me and Gage who were sitting on the bed with the TV on that was on the wall on the other side of the room from my

bed

No. I heard you guys were here and I was just wondering what was going on. You two never come to the house so I thought Trinity might have been in trouble.” Spencer said

Why would she be in trouble? She’s our best friend.Gage said

I know. I just thought that it was strange you guys were hanging out here instead of the packhouse.” Spencer said. Gage looked at me, but I wasn’t saying anything. I looked down at the

bedding, but I knew the twins would know something was wrong because I wasn’t fighting back

I also knew that I couldn’t fight back because I didn’t want to get beaten as soon as the twins left.

didn’t know what the f**k I was meant to do here. I was damned if I did and damned if I didn’t

It’s been a little hectic at the packhouse since Asher got back. We wanted peace and quiet.Arlo

said, while he was looking at me

Alright. Asher was asking where you two were. I’ll let him know that you’re all watching movies.”

Spencer said, obviously lying

Asher wasn’t wondering where they were. Spencer just needed to make up an excuse that wasn’t

going to get him in trouble for spying

Arlo closed the door without saying anything else and he walked back over to the bed and we kept

watching TV without them saying anything about my family

I was starting to get the feeling that they knew something was off in the house

Maybe they thought I broke down last night because of my family. Not because of their brother

I really don’t know. But honestly, I think I broke down because of everything. My whole life is feeling a little f****d up right now

Mom came to the door to ask if we wanted dinner that night but Gage declined and he offered to

go and get dinner for us three from in town

So when he got back we sat in my room eating and talking and laughing. But we couldn’t hear anyone else in the house

I knew they were down stairs but they were really nervous having the twins in the house

CHAPTEETT

I wonder if dad has snuck down to the basement to remove the chains that are hanging from the

ceiling

After dinner Arlo had to go back to the packhouse but Gage didn’t look like he had any intentions of going anywhere, so we ended up falling asleep in my bed, which wasn’t unusual for us, while we

were still watching movies

It was a pretty nice relaxing night. Knowing that nothing was going to happen and actually being

able to act my age for a change without being terrified like I always am

When I woke up the following morning Gage was still asleep so I went to the bathroom and I went

downstairs to get a coffee but dad was sitting at the table

It looked like he had been there all night. Like he didn’t get any sleep at all.

So I walked over to the coffee machine and I started making the coffee, knowing that dad was

watching my every move

So, how long have you been screwing the twins?Dad asked

I’m not sleeping with them. We’re friends.” I said

You two slept in the same bed last night. He said

507

been doing that for years. It doesn’t mean anything happened.I said

You’re nothing but a lying little tramp.Mom said walking into the room

I am not lying. We’re just friends.I said

Why the f**k are they hanging around now all of a sudden?Mom asked

I don’t know. Why don’t you ask them? Oh, that’s right. You can’t ask them because then you’ll have

to explain that you want to beat the crap out of me without them knowing about it.I said

Dad got up in a flash and across the room to slap me across the face

Don’t you ever use that f*****g tone with us again.Dad snarled in my face

What’s going on in here?Gage asked from the doorway

Oh s**t

Mom and dad turned around really quickly and dad took a couple of steps away from me while I was holding the side of my face

So I lowered my head so Gage couldn’t see the red mark on my face and I turned back to finish

making my coffee

CHAPTER 11

Nothing. Just a little family disagreement.Dad said

Really? My mom never calls any of us little tramps when we hang out with people from the opposite sex.Gage said

If he heard that then he definitely heard dad slap me

I could hear dad starting to panic but I quickly finished making two coffees while mom and dad

were trying to explain themselves about the incident

Gage just stood there with his arms crossed, looking like he was ready to kill them but I interrupted

them and I gave Gage his coffee

Go and get changed. We’re gonna go to the diner for breakfast.Gage said

Okay.I said, going back upstairs

I started looking through whatever clothes I had left that Spencer didn’t destroy the night he trashed my room and I found something decent to wear that would cover all the bruises and marks on my body, but it was hard because I had that damn cast on my arm. It was harder to wear long sleeves with it on but obviously I just left that sleeve above the cast

When I walked back downstairs Gage was still standing in the doorway of the kitchen while my parents were sitting at the kitchen table. They both looked strange, like they were scared or

something

I’d never seen them look scared of anything

What’s going on?I asked

Nothing. We were just chatting.Gage said, turning to look at me with a weird smile on his face

I knew that he did something. But he obviously wasn’t going to tell me what it was

I took one more look at my parents before I left the house with Gage

But I could feel my heart rate start to accelerate a little, knowing that whatever happened was going to come back to bite me in the ass. And I was terrified of how bad that was going to be

SUMMARY (~1000 Words in English)

Trinity was born into a werewolf pack where things seem perfect on the outside—strong leadership, pack unity, and loyalty. But Trinity knows better than anyone that the image doesn’t match reality. In this pack, if your family is respected and the Alpha favors you, life is comfortable. But some people learn how to manipulate, to hide their cruelty behind obedience, and Trinity’s own family happens to be experts at that.

After graduating high school, Trinity receives a full scholarship to a nearby college that accepts both humans and werewolves. For most wolves, that is a dream opportunity. But her parents refuse to let her leave the pack territory. They tell her she must remain at home, and Trinity has learned never to question their decisions. Disobedience is met with consequences—painful consequences.

She turned eighteen a few months ago, which technically makes her a legal adult allowed to live her life how she chooses. But Trinity knows her parents would involve the Alpha to block her from leaving, and she has no choice but to stay. The only thing she has independence in is her part-time job as a tutor at the local high school. She genuinely enjoys helping struggling kids—especially werewolf children who often have trouble focusing. The job pays, it gives her purpose, and it’s the one part of her life she feels proud of.

Trinity’s two closest friends are Gage and Arlo, twin brothers who happen to be the younger sons of the Alpha and Luna. She grew up with them, laughed with them, survived with them. They are her safe place—her reminder that not everyone in this pack is cruel. To everyone else, their friendship seems unusual: pack princes spending all their time with a girl outside the Alpha’s family line. People assume the relationship must be romantic. But the bond between Trinity, Gage, and Arlo is deeper than romance—they are family by choice.

One afternoon, after Trinity finishes tutoring, she meets the twins and they go out together like they always do—joking, teasing, and laughing at a local diner. The twins mention that they don’t want to be home tomorrow because someone important is returning. That person is Asher, their older brother—the future Alpha.

The moment Trinity hears his name, panic strikes her. Her heart races, her breathing tightens, but she hides it expertly. Asher’s return is something she has been dreading. There is a painful history between them—one that changed both their lives forever. Trinity knows Asher wouldn’t want to see her either, but she still fears what will happen when their paths cross again. His return means her carefully built emotional walls may crumble.

After spending the afternoon with the twins, Trinity returns home. But home isn’t safety. Home is punishment.

Her family is waiting.

Her father, mother, and older brother Spencer stand like judges preparing for a sentence Trinity has already memorized. She tries to turn away, but she knows resistance only makes things worse. They force her into the basement—the same basement where they punish her for something that happened years ago. Something they believe is entirely Trinity’s fault. Something she still insists was an accident.

They chain her arms overhead with silver restraints, burning her skin. Her mother selects a leather whip soaked in wolfsbane—ensuring that wounds heal slowly and painfully. The whip cracks across Trinity’s skin again and again. Blood forms. Pain radiates. But Trinity doesn’t scream. She refuses to give them the satisfaction.

When her mother grows tired, her brother Spencer steps forward wearing brass knuckles. He strikes her stomach repeatedly, anger controlling his fists. When he accidentally hits her face, their father lightly scolds him—not because of the pain inflicted, but because bruises on her face would raise suspicion at school.

Their cruelty is routine. Their words cut as sharply as the whip—accusing her of destroying their family, of being a burden, of being unwanted. Trinity has heard it all before. She has learned to respond not with tears, but with silence and defiance.

When they finally release her, Trinity cleans and dresses herself alone. Her body aches, her ribs feel possibly broken, burns mark her wrists, and bruises stain her skin. But she moves quietly through the world the next day—smiling when needed, talking to people, blending in. She has done it hundreds of times.

But the one thing she cannot ignore is the voice that wakes her through a mind link the next morning.

Asher.

His voice is steady, familiar, and filled with emotion she doesn’t want to face. Trinity shuts him out. Even her wolf, Lily, urges her to speak to him, arguing that Trinity hurt him too. But Trinity insists she did it for his sake. She had reasons—reasons no one knows.

After her long day at college, Trinity stops at a diner before returning home. There, two girls from high school—Ingrid and Rose—approach her. They always believed she was the reason the twins never paid attention to them. Jealousy taints their words. Trinity stays calm but firm. There’s nothing romantic between her and the twins—but if they used her name as an excuse to avoid shallow relationships, that’s not Trinity’s fault.

Trinity leaves the conversation with the same quiet strength she practices every day.

She survives.

Even when it hurts.

Even when she’s alone.

But Asher is back now.

And the past she tried to bury is coming with him.
