Chapter 21
Chapter 21
/-Selene-/
“Leave my room, Elara,” I said with a calm I didn’t feel.
:
I had no idea where my audacity came from, but I loved how direct I was with her.
“You better do as I say now that I’m being nice.”
She didn’t move; instead, she smirked and adjusted her perfect legs like she owned my room.

“See who is talking. Where did that boldness come from? Or do I need to remind you that your ‘mates‘ bought you for two cents?”
so–called
She burst out laughing as though she had made a very funny joke; it was so hard that she clutched her side to reduce the impact on her ribs.
“You pathetic thing, I feel so sorry for you, die already, you have no use.”
Surprisingly those words didn’t get to me.
Finn had given me so much hope with the story he told me about his sister.
“Elara, I will be forced to drag you out if I ask one more time!” I warned her, and I meant it.
Elara scoffed, visibly shaken, but like the pretender she was, she regained her composure that instant.
“You think you are special because Thorne kept screaming your name or something? Well, I came with good news: a date will be fixed soon, and when it is, I will be made Luna. You know what that means, right?” She stood and grabbed the cup of hot coffee on the table beside her. “I will have you hanged and allow those rogue wolves to feast on your body, it will be worse than death.”
It was meant to scare me.
The old Selene would have been terrified and maybe started begging for forgiveness, but instead of fear, a cold grin spread across my face, and I whispered.
“When you are done reciting your poem, you can leave.”
Her eyes widened in shock, she didn’t expect such a response from me, yet instead of walking away, she deliberately poured the hot coffee over my dress.
It stung so hard that I stumbled back trying to brush it off.
She laughed again.
“Weren’t you so bold minutes ago?”
Something inside me snapped, and a low growl rumbled inside me.

Then I understood; my wolf had always been there, but what I didn’t understand was what had woken it.
‘Strike her!‘
I heard a voice in my head.
Calm, yet commanding.
“What?” I asked, hoping to hear the voice again.
Elara looked confused.
She turned around to check if there was any other person in the room, and when her eyes returned to me, she raised her hand to slap me.
“You idiot!”
I caught her hand in midair and struck her first.
SMACK!
It was Loud and hard.
Her face turned from the impact of my hand, and she staggered a few steps backwards.
For some seconds she stared in shock.
I also didn’t believe I did that.
It was my wolf, and so bad, I couldn’t control it.
“You hit me?” Elara whispered with her eyes still widened in shock.
“You spilled hot coffee on me, and dared raise your hand first, isn’t it right that I hit you?” I fired.
Her mouth opened as though she had something to say, but it closed immediately too.
Like a squirrel, she scurried away to the door.
“You will pay with your life,” she spat before storming out,
The moment the door shut behind her, I dropped to my knees, gasping in disbelief.
“I got a wolf,” I whispered.
‘I’ve always been here, the voice spoke in my mind again. I’ve been tied up; I got freed when you kissed your mate the first time, and I will be completely free when they mate and mark you!
I nodded in response as tears streamed down my cheeks.
I had expected this.

Chapter 21
:
I remembered the night Kaelen kissed me; it was the first time I felt her stir within me.
‘What will you call me?‘ She whispered.
I didn’t think; the word ‘Ivy‘ left my mouth.
‘Ivy it is then.‘
I stood to my feet with my heart pounding in joy.
I needed to tell someone. No, I needed to tell Finn.
I rushed out of my room but froze when I remembered Kaelen’s warning.

I bit my lower lip, unsure of what to do, until two maids walked past me as though they hadn’t seen me.
They said something that caught my attention.
“We should prepare their meal before they get back from the meeting; you know how both Alphas can be when they are hungry?”
I smiled. A naughty onė.
The Alphas were not around.
Without another second of hesitation, I slipped through the servants‘ passage and rushed down the prison path.
‘Hey, are you there?‘ I mindlinked with Ivy.
‘Yeah,‘ came her swift response.
I had nothing to say to her; I was just so excited that she was here.
The moment I reached Finn’s room, he looked up in surprise.
“How did you get here? Didn’t the guards see you?”
I shook my head. “They saw me, but I lied. There is no one to confirm what I said, the Alphas are in a meeting.”
He smiled and gently reached for my hand.
“Thank you for the food. But you should be scared after what the Alpha said.”
I nodded in response, my grin growing wider by the seconds.
“I had something to tell you; I couldn’t wait.”
His brow furrowed.

“I have a wolf; her name is Ivy. She’s always been here. She helped me stand up against Elara, and I hit her.”
“No, you did not!” Finn exclaimed with disbelief on his face.
I squealed in excitement.
“The moon goddess might restore my look soon.”
I kept blabbing about how I felt with my wolf, and Finn just stared.
When my eyes darted to his face, I noticed his eyes were not on mine; they were on my lips.
“Finn“, I called softly.
In response, he stepped closer.
“Finn? Are you okay?”
I regretted why I had entered his ward; I would have just stayed outside.
I took a step back out of instinct until my back hit the cold wall of the prison.
Before I could think or react, He leaned in to kiss me.
