Chapter 17
BORA
I walk towards the restroom, feeling like a mess and totally stupid.

Hair sticks to my body like glue. I smell like soup and my eyes feel a little bit peppery but I don’t think about
all that.
Instead, my head tries to wrap around the words I just said to Lucan.
“Yes, as long as this ends everything.”
What was I thinking when I said that to him? When I agreed to be his girlfriend?
I release a slow breath as my legs stop in front of the mirror.
The
way
he pushed the door open and searched for me with his eyes.
The way he grabbed me out of the place.
He is an idiot. If he thinks he can try to trick me into seeing different shades of himself, then he is very stupid.
My eyes scan the place and fall on my reflection in the mirror. I look like a mess. All because of what? Peace?
My hands move to my chest and I pull out the dangling necklace from within, staring at the cross pendant.
“I’m sorry, dad.” I mutter, “I’m in a school of trained wolves. So I can’t fight for myself. I now know….what it means to be weak.”
“What are you saying?” Sapphire’s voice comes first, before she walks into the restroom. “This is not because you are weak. It’s just because of the school system. Do you think it’s easy fighting against members of the whole school if they gang up against you? Scratch that. Do you think it’s easy to stand up to the alpha prince?! You are stronger than you think, Bora.”
I roll my eyes, “What are you doing right now?”
She flattens her lips, “Motivating you?” She stretches sports wear to me. “Am I bad at it?”
“Very.” I smile.
“But you are smiling. It probably worked.” She says.
“I’m sorry that I couldn’t help.” She mutters a minute later.
“You grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the door when I couldn’t even think. If that isn’t helpful, 1 don’t know what is.” I reply flatly.
“But you think Lucan would remove you from the list….right?” She asks me.

Chapter 17
I pause for a second as I gulp.
“I’ve settled things with him. He should.”
:
“If it was this easy, why didn’t you settle with him a long time ago?” She probes further.
“Who said it was easy?” I ask and take the sports wear, walking into one of the cabins.
I stand there for a long time, before I pull my stained uniform off, dropping it to the ground.
I shouldn’t have stepped into school today.
Mom was right when she pulled me back this morning,
“Are you really sure you want to go to school?”
“It’s better than staying at home.”
“Then don’t mess up. I know how you usually are.”
I frowned, “I’m not a child.”
Her expression changed, “That’s what you always say!” She snapped at me.
Remembering now, I wish I did not come to school.
Then, maybe Amber….
“You miss your daddy, little girl?”

I walk out of the restroom, only to see Sapphire and a girl with red hair, red eyes and a gold nose ring.
“Oh my, you are so pretty.” She gushes as I walk past her, going to the sink. “You were almost unrecognizable with all that lunch on you.”
I look up, water on my face and hair. “Do you know me?”
Her pupils increase in size, “You don’t have makeup on,” she stretches her hand to my hair, “you are a natural beau-”
I hit her hand hard, away from my hair. “Who are you?”
The smile leaves her lips and she pulls back her hand, stopping it right at my front–for a handshake. “I’m Zara Heart.”
“I don’t care,”
“But you asked.” She says seriously,
I stare at her in an unwanted competition, my face hardening, “Well, I’m not interested. In you, or your identity. Don’t just go around touching people.” I snap, breathing heavy.

She stares at me blankly, for a whole minute before she pulls back her hand. “If you are as fierce as this….why didn’t you fight back then? Just let them walk over like some lab rat.”
“I’m no lab rat.”
“Oh, guess I am wrong then.” She scoffs, pocketing her hands in her red sweater that makes her look like a red lollipop. Our uniform is already reddish enough.
“Look at all that hard hair, stuck with different things. And you still smell like lunch.” She mutters as she walks around me.
“Human?”
I ignore her and start washing my hair.
“You smell like one,”
“Why are you disturbing her?” Sapphire suddenly says, widening her arms, to probably protect me from the nosy werewolf. “It’s obvious she doesn’t want to talk to you.”
“But I want to talk to her. You both. I’m looking for friends.”
“I don’t want friends like you.” I cut into the conversation, grabbing Sapphire’s hand and my uniform, before walking out of the place.
Zara’s voice rings after me, “If you need help with your hair, I’m good at them. Dye it blue!” She screams.
I shut out her voice as I make my way towards our class.
“Is she in our classroom?” I ask Sapphire.
“No. The next class.” she replies.
That is Lucan’s class.
I sigh and walk into the class.
Everywhere goes quiet immediately, like I was a ghost in the human world. Their eyes follow me as I make my way towards my seat, only to find my books scattered on the desk.
I suck in a deep breath, throwing my uniform on my chair. My voice was calm with a low tremble as I speak, “You know I’m removed from the list right?”
I look around, “So don’t think of messing with me or my properties,” they fall on Amber, “again.”
“Oh, so what are you going to do about it?” Amber stands up and walks towards me, “You are just a
werewolf by name. You can’t actually beat anyone if they try to harm you, can you?”
My gaze sharpens, “Do you want to try?”
