Okay, flash news. I lived in the human part of the world all of my life and recently moved here, meaning i had none of the training the normal wolves would have. And again, I haven’t gotten my wolf yet, so it’s practically impossible to protect myself from painful punches from my fellow girls, but that didn’t mean I would trade my gut for obedience.
There’s something I decided when I left my old school after watching poor people get bullied by the rich, I would never cower. Because whether you obey or not, you’ll still be bullied. Over there, I wasn’t bullied because I was one of those in the classes that weren’t so rich, but never lacked anything and yes, bullying me was dangerous. They thought if they went to my mom’s clinic once in a life and death situation, she wouldn’t save them. That was what my mom meant by connections. Connections were always formed by what you had to offer.
But over here, in Moonthorne pack and it’s Academy, your money and what you had to offer didn’t matter. Alphas did and power, like Lucan.
A hand pulls me by my hair, dragging me upwards, sending another bout of pain down my scalp, that pulls me out of my lone thoughts.
“You are all talk and nothing else, hmm?” The girl who had punched me says right to my face and I smirk lightly.
“I guess.” I whisper, my voice coming out in short breaths.
She looks angry as she stares at me and suddenly she pushes me back to the ground, giving me a kick, before she bounces away with her minions. Everyone stares at me and once again, I want to feel invisible. What would happen if Mom sees me like this? Rough and not, the proper prim girl she trained me to be all my life.
The door to the cafeteria opens and I see Lucan come in with his crew, three other guys that looks as shitty as him. And shitty means really handsome if we are talking positive.
He was about going towards an empty table at the far end when he suddenly turns and his eyes catches mine. I didn’t look away.
He runs his eyes over my body on the floor and then my rough hair, which always has an hard time, lying flat down when disturbed. Not everyone has natural soft perfect hair and I was in the process of spending all of my earnings on forcing the hair to what I want it to be.
He walks towards me, stopping right at my front and then stretches his hand to me. “Are you alright?”
“Are you asking that because you are blind?” I shoot at him and everyone gasp, small sounds escaping their lips.
“I guess you are mad after all.” He runs his fingers over his lower lips and places it back in his pocket. “Then, get up on your own.” He shrugs and turns.
“Let’s talk.” I say loudly as I got up to my feet, arranging my rumpled skirt. Gosh, I spent an hour ironing this
dress.

“I don’t have anything to talk to you about.” He says, without turning to look at me.
“I’m pretty sure you do.” I fold my hands and he turns back to look.
“Really?” He raised a brow and I nod.
“Lead the way.” He nods towards the door.

My eyes catches everyone staring at me like I have two horns. But I don’t care. I would get what I want from Lucan and that’s peace.
“Did he just agree to follow her?” I hear a familiar voice as we walk out of the cafeteria and I imagine it must be the girl that hit me yesterday. Amber? Something like that.
“It’s enough.” Lucan says when we reach the foot of the stairs.
“I’m not talking here.” I reply.
“Then you can forget about it.” He turns back to go.
“Okay, fine!” I fire, making him stop in his tracks. He looks back at me with a smirk and an unreadable expression in his eyes.
“So what did you want to say?” He asks, towering over me. I hate his height. I want to break him into two.
“Take me off the blacklist.” I say quickly, not having the luxury to be slow.
He stares at me like I had just appeared out of a comic book he was reading- a lazy, bored but definitely shocked expression.
“Are you shitting me right now?” He asks, his voice dipping low. For an eighteen year old guy, he has the voice of the darkest shade of velvet. Remind me when puberty began again? Why did he grow so fast?
“No. I’m not. I have watched series and series of bullies in my former school and I am more than convinced that it is not the life for me. So please, take it away. I know you ordered it. In just two days, I’ve been beaten twice, I don’t think that’s cool.”
“How many times do I have to tell you that I don’t care what you think?” He steps closer to me and I instinctively move backwards.
“What….did I do to you?”
“A lot of things, Deborah.” He states.
“Like?” I have to know my offence, don’t I?
“Like….” He stops to think.
“Pouring you coffee?” I ask and he nods.
“That was a move you made to catch my attention.”

“Staining my white shirt.” He wasn’t bothered by my interruptions.
“Fine, I’ll get you a new one.”
“One you got with a coupon?” He raises his brow.
“I’m not poor.” I glare at him.

“But you are not rich enough to afford the brands of clothes I wear.” He says and I can swear I saw an hint of pride in his eyes. I grit my teeth hardly against each other.
“There’s nothing you can do, Deborah.” He leans towards me, his head bending to catch my eyes, “You just get on my nerves.”
“Pretend like you don’t see me.” I say.
“I can’t.” He mutters, “I can’t even get you out of my thoughts and that’s your fault.”
“What?” My eyes narrow at him.
He grins as he pats my hair, his hand going down my back and then stops at my waist. He
pulls me in, that the only thing I could scent was his cologne. “You are so damn interesting.”
