Where Destiny Forgot Us 16 Summary

Camila had been suffering from severe nausea and vomiting for days, which led to a medical examination revealing that she was pregnant. Overjoyed, she shared the news with Chase, who was thrilled and insisted on accompanying her to the obstetrician. However, after the appointment, Camila’s mood shifted as she recalled the traumatic day when a man tried to assault her, and the cruelty of Nora, which filled her with fear and pain.

Chase’s demeanor darkened at the mention of Nora, and Camila confronted him, reminding him of his promise to make Nora pay for what she did. Despite Chase’s initial hesitation, Camila’s vulnerability and plea for justice for their unborn child moved him to agree to take action. Their bond strengthened as Chase vowed to protect Camila and their baby, showing tenderness and commitment.

Meanwhile, Nora found herself forcibly taken from a cold storage vault by cruel men who revealed they were acting with Chase’s approval. Terrified and betrayed, Nora realized Chase had orchestrated her punishment, shattering any hope she had left. She was subjected to humiliation and threats, and when she pleaded for mercy, Chase taunted her through a speaker, showing no remorse and demanding submission.

As the men advanced on Nora, she reluctantly agreed to beg for her safety, utterly broken by the ordeal. At that moment, Camila’s playful voice interrupted the scene through the surveillance feed, teasing Chase and drawing his attention away from the camera. Chase responded warmly to Camila, and the feed abruptly cut off, leaving the tense situation unresolved.

On the far side of town, Camila had been battling waves of nausea and relentless vomiting for several days. The discomfort was overwhelming, and it left her feeling weak and unsettled.

A swift medical examination brought clarity—she was pregnant.

Filled with joy and hope, she eagerly shared the wonderful news with Chase. His face lit up with excitement, and he insisted on accompanying her to the obstetrician’s appointment, wanting to be there every step of the way.

Yet, as they stepped out of the hospital together, a shadow crossed Camila’s face. Her smile faded, replaced by a quiet, haunted expression.

“Every time I think back to that day—the man who tried to assault me—I get so frightened,” she whispered, her voice trembling. “He never actually touched me, but the fear was just as real… and how could Nora be so cruel, so heartless?”

The moment Chase heard Nora’s name, his features darkened instantly, a storm brewing behind his eyes.

“Why bring her up now, just to ruin such a perfect day?” he asked, his tone sharp.

Camila caught the flicker of disgust on his face and felt a small, secret satisfaction. Summoning her courage, she looked up at him and said firmly, “Didn’t you promise me that whatever Nora did to me, you’d make her pay back a hundred times over?”

“She tried to have me raped, Chase. Isn’t it time she faced the consequences?” Camila pressed, her voice steady despite the fear lingering beneath.

For a moment, Chase was silent, his mind racing. Then he muttered reluctantly, “That might be going too far…”

Tears welled up in Camila’s eyes as she clutched her growing belly protectively. “I just want justice for our baby… If you hadn’t shown up when you did, that man would have destroyed me… I’m so scared, Chase.”

Her vulnerability touched him deeply, softening the hardness in his heart. After a pause, he nodded firmly. “Alright. I’ll take care of it.”

Camila’s face brightened instantly, and she threw her arms around him in a grateful embrace. “You’re amazing, Chase…”

“I won’t let anything hurt you. You’re carrying my son now,” he said tenderly, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead.

That very night, Nora was dragged from the Cold Storage Vault, confusion and fear clouding her mind. She blinked, still groggy as she tried to understand what was happening.

“Where are you taking me?” she asked, voice weak and uncertain.

No one responded.

Suddenly, grimy hands seized her, jolting her fully awake. Standing before her were several leering, greasy, bald men, their eyes filled with cruel intent.

Her skin turned ghostly pale with terror. “What are you doing?!” she demanded, voice shaking.

They laughed with a coarse, mocking edge. “What do you think? We’re going to have our way with you.”

“Your husband handed you over himself. Told us we could do whatever we wanted. You really didn’t know?” one sneered.

Her body trembled uncontrollably. “No… No, he wouldn’t… he couldn’t…”

“Lady, this is the Whitmore family’s cold room. You think we got in here without his say-so?”

Those words crushed her last shred of hope.

She struggled for breath, a nameless pain gripping her heart. All her life, she had clung to the belief that, despite Chase’s cruelty, some part of him still remembered their shared past. That he only hurt her because he thought she had wronged Camila.

But this…

This was beyond anything human.

Just then, a voice crackled through the surveillance speaker overhead.

“Nora, I told you. This is your punishment.”

“I hope you learn your lesson. There won’t be a next time.”

Nora was too broken to cry. Instead, she let out a raw, hoarse scream, her voice cracking with desperation.

“Chase, you lunatic! I want a divorce! You’re a sadist!”

“Divorce?” Chase’s chuckle was low and chilling.

“Nora, do you really think you can just walk away from me?”

“But,” he added with a twisted smirk, “if you beg me right now… admit your mistake and promise it won’t happen again—maybe I’ll think about letting you off this once…”

The men advanced on her.

Nora had never imagined her life could sink this low: her own husband orchestrating her torment, trapping her like prey, and forcing her to beg for mercy.

“Fine! I’ll beg. Just get them away from me… please…”

Suddenly, a soft, teasing voice cut through the tense air.

“Chase~ why are you still watching that camera? I bought a new cat-ear lingerie set just for you—come see~” Camila purred playfully.

“I’m coming, baby,” he replied, his tone dripping with sweetness.

Then, abruptly, the feed went dead.
